Juande Ramos was bottom of the table with a decent spurs side when he was sacked, not quite relegation but still pretty bad. His next appointment was madrid.

Hiring a manager like Martinez, who has shown to be just as effective at treading water in the league, but much more effective at winning important games / winning a cup, does not necessarily show a lack of ambition

Please don't tell me, taking over a side who were 11th, and getting them relegated, after 4 years to build your own squad is "treading water".

When ever I think of winning at Anfield I think of Moyes
When ever I think of winning at Highbury/Emirates I think of Moyes
When ever I think of winning at Old Trafford I think of Moyes
When ever I think of winning at Stamford Bridge I think of Moyes

Ive been to all the above and seen us win forget about him lad he doesn't give a**** about us

The man as gone ffs get over it,who ever comes in there's a chance we can go to places like the pit
And not choke,I couldn't see it changing after 11 yrs with Moyes

Judging by some of the anti Martinez stuff before he's even got out the car the words "Benitez/Roy Hodgson and kopite tits" loom large

Shocking really - he should get a chance - comments lining up what is failure in his first season like so many Tricoteuse is shtehawk stuff, should be ashamed of yourselves.

He hasn't performed the gig yet, so this discussion is null and void. You're gloating, yet have nothing to gloat about. Come back two years from now and then you'll have a leg to stand on, but right now youre premature to say the least.

Haha gloating my arse, just stating facts that you find unpalletable due to your previous diatribe

With Nigel here, give the lad a year before we start either praising him or righting him off.

Nothing wrong with discussing his possible pros and cons on here but lets not be too hasty. If we wins the first three game he won't be a genius, he loses the first three he won't be awful.

I have no problem admitting I was wrong about Moyes.

I thought there was no chance whatsoever of him getting a job like Man U. Doesn't mean he won't flop there, I reckon he will, but just by getting the job he's massively exceeded my expectations.

As & when he gets appointed he'll get that support, but there's no harm in dissecting his credentials & questioning his suitability

I'm happy with it - and it's not a done deal yet - got a bit pi&&ed off with seeing Mirallas off for Naismith, too little of any youth, protecting one nil at 60 minutes etc etc etc. Moyes was a great manager but too defensive imho

I think you're in the minority there mate & I applaud you for it

I didn't think he'd get it either nor did I think he'd be daft enough to take it either tbh as it's the ultimate poison chalice IMO
I suspect he'll find it tough & run out of time before he adapts
