No he was very good. Excellent actually. Our 2017/18 player of the year, by a mile. And he was excellent for Sunderland too the year before, which got him the move.

But he's been so bad since that it's diluted all memory of that season.
Yeah exactly. He was the absolute right choice for England in 2018. It would have been criminal for someone else to play. Now it is criminal that he plays.

I think the end of 2018 season into the World Cup and the following season he was very good. But he is now on a whole year of being disastrous. I'm just not sure why we're so sure that he can even bring it back to being average.

he’s a reactive shot stopper, that’s what he’s actually half decent at. But everything else he’s utterly pathetic

Our last Swedish player was Tobias Linderoth. And the one before that was Niclas Alexandersson. And Jesper Blomqvist.

It'd... er.... be wise not to play on the Swedish thing with that track record.
Never know, we have so much deadwood hanging around they might be in a closet somewhere.

The question isn’t necessarily if a new keeper is vastly better than Pickford. The question is whether he’s decent enough for Pickford to consider him as potential competition. As long as Pickford is looking over his shoulder, knowing that he needs to perform at a high level to keep his starting spot, then that’s a massive improvement.

His entire time here, Pickford has known he was the automatic first choice. No matter how many mistakes he’s made, he’s not once been held accountable and been dropped for a backup. That’s why we need another option... whoever it may be.

The thinking has to be that Olsen is a significant upgrade on Lossl. If this goes through, Lossl is surplus to requirements, hopefully we can find a League 1 team to take him on loan or something.

Agree mate.

He'll give better competition to Pickford which is good, but not convinced by fans who think he's coming in to replace Pickford. I just can't see it.

Exactly ;)

Romeo would have been definite direct competition...

Reckon a few people need to watch that first goal that Brighton scored on repeat and then come back here and tell me that this fella wont be an improvement yano.
Yep, we’re top despite Pickford. His form has been genuinely terrible for a year. Any half decent solid goalie is better. I’ll take this guy for the short term but we need a top class goalie ASAP preferably in January.
