Yup.

"I just want to give Jordan a rest for this game and to give an opportunity to Olsen, to have minutes.

Jordan will be back for the next game against Manchester United."
Just makes no sense at all. Completely baffling from the manager. He's not exempt from criticism. What kind of message did that sent to Olsen today that no matter what happens he's not playing next week? And again to Pickford, don't worry you're just having a breather and can pick up where you left off against United. I love Carlo, but the last two weeks have been a disaster for him.

Remember the time Howard was out injured and Joel did really well as replacement, Joe?

Kept a bunch of clean sheets but was dropped the minute Howard was fit again.
Yes imo cost Roberto his job ........stated it would at the time ......Howard was past his best age wise this is not the case with Pickford , but his all round game firm wise has dipped tremendously- one good game v Spurs on the opening game imo .....

I suppose at least Olsen has proved he is a good alternative, so if/when Pickford drops another clanger Olsen is ready to come in.

Olsen should be the starter going forward. Pickford makes the odd superb save but is nowhere near the required standard overall. He undermines the entire defence with his constant poor decision making and never ending basic mistakes.

Hopefully you’ll be able to get some money for him at season’s end from some club willing to take a punt on “England’s no. 1”. And then use the funds to buy someone to compete with Olsen. There’s value to be found out there; just look at what Mendy — who’s about three times better than Pickford — cost Chelsea.

I think the good thing with Olsen is he's an experienced player and will know this is how it would work.

Watch the Spurs doc and there's a moment where Mourinho/the GK coach sits down with the three keepers and explains a decision to drop one and bring one back in.

Carlo will have had the discussion with Olsen and Pickford. Everyone will know the score.

Pickford didn't play badly at S'ton, he was dropped because of everything that's gone on recently. I'm not saying on form he shouldn't have been dropped, but the real reason wasn't just his form.

It is a bit strange from Carlo to publically guarantee it but if he hadn't had said that then there'd be tons of media speculation over Pickford's immediate future, so it's probably the lesser of two evils.

Olsen has shown he's more than able and it may mean that if Pickford makes a howler then he is out of the team for a while now.
