Calamity?! He made a bad bad error for the third goal and apparently he's not good enough despite making a superb triple save against Leeds, It's just absolute gutter talk. We're not finding a faultless keeper so you need to accept that right now.
Thing is he had to make the triple save from a situation of his own making.

....I don’t think Pickford is very good and I don’t think Olsen is very good.

Our goalkeeper selection is more about ‘who’s the least worst’, than ‘who’s the best’.

The issue needs to be resolved, we need a good goalkeeper.

He's a bog standard keeper - the sort you would see rock up at a Newcastle or Crystal Palace type outfit.

I think we need better but do think we'll end up signing him.

The reality is if he signs he aint 1st choice - Carlo loves Pickford and will keep him as no1 for the foreseeable sadly.

yeah and if they scored from it people would be tearing him a new one and rightfully so, Guess he can't win.
Pack it up the boo boys have selected the next target after 4 games.

But who will take Pickford off us to clear space for a good keeper? I suspect he would be easy enough to get out the door on a loan basis for the rest of his contract, but if that's the price of success so be it?

I just mentioned in the goalkeeping thread that it will come down to opportunism on a new keeper as I suspect strengthening the outfield will have more impact per pound spent. Having said that, getting it right in other positions will only highlight the deficiencies of this position. I think we might have to wait until the 23 summer window for this position unless an unmissable opportunity becomes available.

I do hope that Brands, Ancelotti, et al. have a plan for this position. Olsen seems too much of a stop gap for a team aiming to break the top 4.

I just don't see that at all. There is 0 reason to "rest" keepers. Hell, the most any of ours have had to do in the last couple weeks was Olsen running up the pitch for the free kick against Utd.

...i imagine Pickford will stay.

They were all young players. Olsen is a 31 year old journeyman.

He's also a goalkeeper

How old was Tim Howard when he left? 37?

Olsen then has potentially 5/6 years easily up for grabs.

Pienaar/Lukaku got off after 4.

I'm not saying he's the answer, I expressed reservations over him being a bit of a pointless signing who wouldn't replace Pickford but to write him off as "Why buy someone who isn’t good enough?" is a bit silly.

Loads of players who weren't "good enough" have gone on to be brilliant.

He's tall but can't jump. We need a goalie with springs in his legs. A good distributor, and has longish arms with lighting reflexes. Okay!
