2024/25 Roman Dixon

Nowhere near it defensively but that's to be expected when he's played 2/3 senior games in his life.

Needs a season playing RM like Coleman did for us before thinking about putting him at RB for a Premier League side.
Coleman's played nearly 600 and is nowhere near it defensively and hasn't been for years.

Should be playing more, regardless of where - maybe a transition similar to Coleman would be nice, maybe we can't afford it. If we had a better structure and a need for full backs to go forward and not defend-first-and-only, he'd do better, as will any modern full back, but he'll neither play in the Prem a lot, nor will he be a right midfielder.

Because he's had about 3 career ending injuries in his 30's but we continue to flog him rather than sign a competent RB.

He should have gone on loan but the predictable injuries at full back meant he had to stay around. If he's going to play for us this year it should be at RM. He was getting skinned by Ryan Fraser who I thought had packed it in to be honest.

He was also poor defensively before that but had pace to more than make up for it.

In fact, pace was his only true quality, but that's beside the point currently.

Fraser's 30 years old and "experienced" mate, he just looks rough cuz he's from Aberdeen.

He was never going out on loan given the fact we have no other full backs anyway. Even with injuries, Dyche 100% goes into this season with the idea his first and 2nd choice are Coleman and Young anyway, and I don't think even he's stupid enough to think they'll be healthy.

This is why we have no back up we let potential prem players without trying them out go on loan - Dixon was a bright light last night gave Frazier an experienced pro hardly any room as for the foul that led to the goal - we should have dealt with a bog-standard cross once again !

He was bright going forward and offers a level of pace we haven't seen for years. Defensively, Fraser won the freekick for the goal off of him, got in behind him minutes later because he was too deep on the edge of the box and gave them their best open play chance in the second half where Virigina made his only meaningful save of the game.

He's just not at the level needed defensively but that's understandable. He should have been learning as a RB the past year on loan or he should be getting minutes somewhere as a RM like Coleman did.

He's the best we have with pace - end of ...
