Romelu Lukaku

You know what I would love to see?

Ross paired with Rom in a two man strike force.

If you look at how we set up off the ball the other day Khal, it actually was.

Barkley was pushed up to the right, with Rom left.

However, Barkley would then drop back and become just 'nothing'.

I'd be willing to try it, but at the same time I'm not sure if he has the positional sense to play that role.

What we need is a player to make the runs in-behind, to drag defenders away. Barkley doesn't do that, and has shown no evidence of it in the past 3 years either.

Of what we have at the moment, Mirallas might be the man for that role.

Just throw Valencia up there, he can be a pain and give defenders something to think about, frees Rom up a bit more. He at least needs a chance to prove he can do something at us

Maybe...

Kev comes in for a lot of stick and, tbh, most of it is justified.

However, when he moves centrally he looks 10x the player he does when he's shoved wide.

Against Sunderland he was excellent in that role, and equally so when he came on vs Swansea he did actually help us get up the pitch.

He sees the space better than Ross does IMO. He links up well with Rom and he still has that bit of pace to make darting runs in behind.

A perfect example of that is on Sunday when he drove into the area.

Okay, his end effort was neither a cross nor shot, but the fact remains that we hadn't got through them down the middle at all until then.

TuttoSport claim Juve are "falling in love" with Lukaku, 23, but the centre forward is committed to Goodison until the summer.

Juve please, take him next month, give us 20m and Mandzukic.
