Romelu Lukaku

Regards the top two, I meant to quote @Pabbers as well, but forgot!

Fair enough if that's your opinion, but I can't agree with it.

He has everything and so what if he plays for a team that create a lot of chances in a league that isn't as strong ? You could say the same for Lewandoski surely based on that theory? He still puts them away and some of his goals have been unbelievable.

He's been superb and to score 22 goals in 20 games (across all comps) so far this season is fantastic. There's no hiding away from that.

As I said, I love Rom, but imo Aubameyang is currently the better player. I personally don't feel Rom would've scored that many by now in the same circumstances.

Good case for an argument 22 goals in 20 games at any level is a brilliant return.

People used to say the same about Andy Cole, he needed 3/4 chances to score one. But he always got those chances. I always felt someone like Cole was a very under rated striker. Especially as a partner for Beardsley & Yorke.

I think Aubemayang has tonnes of pace, loves a trick but I don't see him as a slotter! Hes average at best finishing, and can sometimes be seen as abit headless chicken esq!

Come at me Bra! :-)

Might be a mistake if Rom starts to believe he'll get a load more chances elsewhere. There's some great midfielders elsewhere but also a lot more cagy tactics. He's starting to really suit how Everton play. Not convinced he'd be a success wherever he goes.

Name / Apps / Goals / Goals per game

Aguero (City) / 128 / 84 / 1.52
Costa (Chelsea) / 37 / 22 / 1.68
Kane (Spurs) / 57 / 30 / 1.90
Benteke (Villa, Liverpool) / 98 / 46 / 2.13
Rooney (Man Utd) / 418 / 187 / 2.23
Giroud (Arsenal) / 108 / 47 / 2.29
Lukaku (Chelsea, WBA, Everton) / 114 / 49 / 2.32
Bony (Swansea, City) / 74 / 30 / 2.46
Pelle (Southampton) / 49 / 18 / 2.72

Wait, so Lukaku scores 2.32 goals per game? I should pay more attention to the match.

Hah!

I really can't agree with the argument he's not the best finisher. Some of his goals have been exquisite and not just all about his pace or power. I'll admit, some days he seems to have 2 or 3 chances without scoring, but then he always seems to get a goal and as soon as he's scored he looks like he'll get 2 or 3 each game.

I'd say Rom is potentially more clinical. However, I think Aubameyang has more of an effect on a game when playing as a lone forward than Rom does in that he often creates chances for himself out of nothing. One thing I would say in Rom's defence is that, while Barkley, Kone and Del have been really good at getting more service to him this year, it is nothing compared to the service that Dortmund usually get into Aubameyang.

It's all down to opinions of course.

Well heres the thing, i wonder who we could replace him with even if we got champions league...

Also personally rate him higher than Cavani and while i like aubameyang hes not done it in a really top league yet.

If we're just counting traditional 'no.9s', then off the top of my head...

1. Suarez
2. Lewandoski
3. Aguero
4. Ibrahimovic
5. Benzema
6. Costa
7. Cavani
8. Aubameyang
9. Martniez
10. Teves...

It's opinion of course, but I wouldn't say in the top 10 (unless you're being sarcastic).

Just sign a better keeper :)

He's got me on ignore but can someone politely ask him why he's going transfer speculation in the Lukaku thread in November please?

The Bundesliga is a top league. He's done it consistently since his arrival at Dortmund, both in the Bundesliga and CL (an now Europa).

Not 1 striker in Italy is better, maybe Morata is similar level, not sure even he is though

Agree there. Morata is very good but I'd say Rom edges it. Jovetic has been on fire for Inter so far but hasn't cut it in the Prem - though I feel City was just a step too far for him (he needs to be a big fish in a small pond, so to speak).

On topic please. Thank you

He's took two other posters off topic.

May one request a permanent ban from the forum for him or failing that just a gentle thread ban from every forthcoming transfer window and youth threads for the next five years?

Thank you kind sir.
