Romelu Lukaku

Lukaku's stock isn't likely to get higher than this season, imo. In a side like this where he pretty much has to carve out most of his own chances the likely 20-22 tally he'll notch up this season is the very limit.

Of course, his agent might gamble on Lukaku having a great World Cup and see what he'll fetch then. But that is a very big gamble.

Overall I cant see beyond another 12 months of Lukaku as an Everton player. He wont get CL football here imo.

The old, slightly dented Everton, maybe. This new shiny one, not so sure myself. Durham covering it now as it happens.

Since when has he been a player who carves out his own chances?

Chelsea in the FA Cup last season. Away at Kiev with a screamer. Without even thinking even a little bit.
I was only messing, I know he grabs goals by himself. Hopefully we can match his ambition this summer and make a proper challenge for the top 4, he then wouldn't need to leave. ;)

Nah..he does have to shift the ball about a lot when he receives it.

If he was at Chelsea he'd be on 30 odd by now.
I've seen it said a lot on here that he'd score 30 or even 40 a season easily at a top side, which would make him the best striker of the modern era.

Being released on the break is his game, and still requires a well-weighted pass.

Everton are laboured at times under Koeman, but people talk as though he's feeding off scraps in a relegation side.
Well he cant play a game on his own, but in terms of getting tap ins or one on ones with GKs on a regular basis I dont see it.

I think he has that potential....certainly the past decade.
He's an interesting case. Goal record is excellent, but it's something different all together watching an Henry or a Shearer - neither of whom scored 30-40 league goals with ease each season.

What people describe on here is a talent on the level of Cristiano Ronaldo. If that was the case, Everton wouldn't be winning and losing the same games and finishing in the same positions that they did with Fellaini and Cahill up front.
