Romelu Lukaku

Rom's goal scoring this season rivals that of Bale, Suarez and Ronaldo when they left the Premier League. We should be looking in that ball park but 100m might be too much. Not that I'm bothered that he will be staying

...and now we have Moshiri who sold Stones and told porkies on Sissoko.

Yes but the major difference between those two deals, a major difference you know full well, or you should. Is Everton got the fee they demanded, unlike Rooneys price when Bill just caved in. You also know that it is very difficult to keep a player when his heart is set on a move away, or his head has been turned. Think Suarez or Torres as two high profile examples.

It's great that Everton are trying to scare others off Lukaku with a £100m fee but what happens in 12 months when he has a year left on his contract, we may only get £30-40m.

Exactly... And it's not our money, and the people whose money it is are obviously ok with it. If we get another year from him and manage to get CL, then win-win. You never know, he just might stick around!

But until that point, I'm going to enjoy each of his goals for us!
Another season should bring up the century for Everton as well

Interesting how a few people are commenting about the 100m will scare a few teams off.

You could also see it this way. For all we know it could mean everton have given up on offering rom a new contract and the 100 mil comment is just so we get the best fee possible for him.

If you look at the situation, this is the first time everton have even entertained the idea of selling him, in the past it has always been ' he has 2 years left etc etc'

Everyone knows the score now "He's an Everton player for the next two years unless you show us the money, oh and btw bidding starts at 100M. If you can't afford that then jog on"

Whose money is it if not ours?.

We are becoming more realistic, rather than my kid will be devastated because just had said player printed on their shirt. If Lukaku ends up signing something with us, all good I'm sure we will share some good times, if not thanks for goals, get top £s and let us get on with our own ambition.

This isn't a warning to interested parties, this is a very clear message to Rom and his agent after lots of talk about him knowing where's he's going next season and all that BS. This is a reminder to them that we still hold all the cards and if our valuation isn't met this summer he doesn't go. Simple as that. It's a World Cup year next year so he can't afford to go on strike or anything.
