I must have missed that memo asking for the ok to buy and sell players
When you said it isnt our money I thought you were referring to the club not the fans.

Having said that I do believe that owners of football clubs have a moral resposibility to the clubs fans to run the club in the right way and that includes making the right financial decisions.

Yeah, it's a tricky one alright. They seem to have a long-term plan in place to make the club self-profitable. Maybe they feel that if they sacrifice some of the money twe could get for Rom and keep him, then we'll be better of due to a higher league finish next year, and/or a good Europa league run/win. More prize money, more exposure and more money from the sponsors!!

I don't know if Rom will be here next year, but I hope he will be if we spend well. Imagine how many more goals he can score with a shored up defence behind him and being fed from the mystical left wing

It's great that Everton are trying to scare others off Lukaku with a £100m fee but what happens in 12 months when he has a year left on his contract, we may only get £30-40m.

we'd demand £60mil if he carries on this form.

And sides would pay it.

Really, if the difference was £60m? I would take the money and invest it in tg club. Rom could get injured and only play a handful for games, is it worth the risk? He could however score 30 goals and get us CL football!
I'm a footy fan mate not an accountant. Nobody really gives a toss that amo cost a bomb all they remember is his glorious goals against the spuds. Give me trophies and memories over money anyday

They wouldn't they would just play hardball knowing we have to sell (Koemans words on Barkley only having 1 year on his deal). If he doesn't want to sign a new deal it's daft keeping him and missing out on an extra £40/50 million that could get us 1-3 top quality players.

we don't have to sell though.

we'd simply play hardball.

We don't sell for less than our valuation. End of.

We have more of a chance to bring bright talent to Everton with the likes of Ross, Rom and Snides here than without. Keep Rom for 1 more year, If we dont get top four by then....with this manager and the new signings ??....well, We probably won't ever get it and Rom would have given us a more than fair crack at the whip and would deserve to go...and with our blessings too.

if anyone came close to agreeing to pay 100m for him i would sell in a heartbeat. I'd like to think with the 200 odd scouts we have around the world along with Walsh and Koeman that they would be able to spot a couple of players who could come in and offer something.

At the end of the day if we kept him a year and lost out on 60m that's another couple of quality additions we could be missing out on.

Finally, I just can't be arsed with players who see their future elsewhere and I'm more than happy to flog anyone for top dollar if they don't want to be here because no player is bigger than Everton Football Club.

Ideally he'd sign a contract and I'd be a lot more happier with the situation but even with this current stand off, the only person getting hurt is Lukaku as he's losing around 70k a week by not signing.

£100m that's Real Madrid sort of money.

Or Man Utd, who paid £93m just eight months ago...

Basically, we want a record fee.

And rightly so.

He's 23 and the leading scorer in the most competitive league in the world, playing for a team who are currently 7th.

He's replicated this form consistently for the past 5 years now, and he's also a regular scorer at international level, and he's still got 2 years left to run on his current deal, and we have no need to sell.

I like what Everton have done, as the season Is coming to an end more and more Transfer talk appears. Everton have decided before the papers sell Rom left right and centre to plonk a huge fee on his head.

This summer is about us getting players in and that won't help if we have 2 months(like Stones last 2 years) of daily Rom to here there and everywhere. So they laid down the law. 100 mil or no sale. Good PR

Absolutely - no mucking about (though it will drag as a fee that massive will be complicated)

We could sell him and buy 2 players who could do their cruciates in the first game. It's a risk to take. But we are winning games and scoring goals so keeping him is a risk worth taking I feel
