Romelu Lukaku

Rom wanting to go to a CL team and a CL team being able to afford the fee AND wanting him as their first choice CF are 2 different things.
Rom may not have as many options as he thinks he will come the summer and he may sign a 150 k a week contract with mutually acceptable clauses.

I see what's going in here...not particularity your past but it's an example of it: people are beginning to put together reasons why it's not the end of the world if Likaku goes, or even more than that, it'll "In fact" be better.

Natural reaction I suppose. But wide of the mark. He is not the incomplete striker many are kidding themselves he is. He's going to be a massive miss.
Do you think that the heady days of finishing 11th and 7th could be behind us if the Great One leaves?

Chelsea selling Diego Costa to China for £76 million might fix Roms problem for him...

It would be a gross over-simplification to compare Lineker in the 80's to Lukaku now, but the world doesn't necessarily end when one top class player leaves.
This. NEA if Rom goes personally, as long as a replacement is signed that fits whatever model we want to play. Lineker was the biggest star we had in our 80s heyday but the team as a whole was better without him.

Not sure where he can go this summer...looks like Madrid has chosen their big signing for next season to be the Monaco lad...which means surely that either Morata or Benzema will leave...Morata is wanted by united and Chelsea. Chelsea after Beloti and united after Griezman...Aubamayang to Psg...so that leaves the Italian teams and maybe Arsenal but surely neither will pay anything close to 100 million...I think he has clearly been told not to sign contract by Chelsea which means that he can only be their backup option in case none of the others are available...

Strikers I'd have in to replace Lukaku (Ones that could be realistic too)

Martial is top of my list
Dembele - I'd take but maybe bring in Defoe and another to add more goals
Michy B from Chelsea
Llorente as a bench option to replace Kone
Bast Dost - Always looked good and scored well in Germany
Dolberg - Again you'd need a few more in like Defoe to bed him in
Rooney - Id actually take him on a two year deal with an option of a 3rd

Any of them I'd be happy with and some as mentioned I would have if there were other players brought in too to either chip in with goals whilst they get used to the league or just generally fill out a front line that will need sorting

I think you're reading a bit too much into paper talk there. No one really knows anything at this stage. Lukaku will have a couple of suitors at least that will be able to afford him as these things change constantly.

I'm not saying he will definitely go but I still think it is more likely than not.

If Chelsea sell Costa to China for the reported 75M, that means Chelsea will only have to stump up 25M of their own cash to get Lukaku. Good business.
