Young kids idolise players and that is the response you get. They don't know they are born, some are so pampered from such an early age sadly.
Luckily I was brought up with heroes like Southall, Reid and Sharp. Players who deserved adulation.

Yup, watch him tear it up wherever he goes, because he feels he has something to play for, watch him run the channels, bully defenders etc.
It was all a bit catch 22, give him ssomething to play for and he puts more effort in, but he should be putting that effort in regardless.

Record breaking seasons plus latter stages of cup competitions still equates to the same really - nothing in the trophy cabinet. Yes, Koeman has equated to the same ultimately, but personally, I have infinitely more faith in Koeman than Martinez - he has gotten rid of most of the tat.
And talking of spending cash on utter tat - what is that based on? Koeman has brought in Schneiderlin, Gana and Williams - as a result we have conceded less and scored more this season than we did the previous two with Martinez. I mean, yeah Bolasie I kind of agree with, but he's hardly had a lot of time to prove himself has he? Yes, Martinez got 72 points in his first season, but judging him by the other two it is clear that this was more down to ol' Carrot Tops well drilled defense rather than some sort of tactical acumen.
I'm kind of with you with regards to Moshiri taking us for a ride, but the Koeman "agenda" you have seems a bit misplaced.
