why? who would you replace him with?

That isn't the question in my view. There are options around in world football and we need to build to play football in a different and better way than what involves ol' ping pong shins.

But the main reason it'd be a disaster is the disruption the player causes and his "me me me" attitude. We'd have another year of speculation, exacerbated every time he goes to Belgium, and playing easily nullified football instead of getting on with building the squad with players for the long term.

We have to sell this summer. We'd be mad not to. Sure, not for £40-50m, but any bid around £80m should be accepted on the spot at this point.

you have a point and i agree if we can get a top quality replacement, just no idea who.

Iheanacho. I suspect we're just flat refusing to have a buyback clause. I'd bid enough that city would accept without one, personally, he'll be incredibly good when playing regularly. My pick anyway, along with another option like Sandro.

If we keep Barkley, anyone who can run a channel and pull defenders about as well as take a ball to feet adequately as an outball will be an improvement on what we've got.

If Chelsea replace Costa with Lukaku, here's my prediction and I'm certain it's true - he'll score as many as Costa, perhaps more, but they'll finish 15 points approx worse off in the league.

I'd honestly sell both, buy Iheanacho and the best creative passing forward we can possibly find.

I like Barkley a lot, been one of my favourite players for ages, but we just need something different. Rom doesn't want to be here and I'd rather cash in on someone who has better linkup play to elevate the team as a whole. The team has no attacking identity.
