£75m and fair enough. Every player has a price.

Literally anything below that and we should say no.

Pretty simple. Will say that if we sell Lukaku and Stones and end up with a negative net spend this window, Moshiri would be wise to avoid Goodison for a while.

@Connor

Ita a fair point you make on players in the prem we could replace him with....that would join and do just as well = Zero.

Couple of things though:

1-- Koeman likes his players (all of them) to press. Chances of Lukaku doing this are zero.

2-- Hes been in a video before the euros saying he wants to do well in the tournament and was very upset about his "dream team"loaning him then selling him.

3-- People can blame Martinez for results but he set the team up to get the ball to Lukaku, perhaps with a different system he wont score as many?

4-- For £75mil we have the money to sign anyone really, yes alot wouldnt join BUT thats what Walsh and Koeman are paid for isnt it? Surely there must be "the next superstar" who we could get...sign 2 or 3!

5-- I really like him but last games of the season zero effort probably because he knew he was leaving...what happens end of next season?

6-- The more i think about it the more id probably sell them all other than Barkley and Deulofeu (and youth) and start again...Koeman seems to have done this at Saints and could do the same over 12+ months....if Stones and Lukaku sign extensions keep them but if not just sell and rebuild the squad.

1. He did it in his first season for Martinez, what's to say Koeman won't get him to buy into the system again?
2. Yes, a promotional video for Nike. It was likely a script written by Nike. Yes, Chelsea are his dream club but he chose to move on.
3. He's a goalscorer, he'll get goals in any system.
4. No.
5. We evaluate where we are. If we have a good season, he'll stay, if we don't then he can move on our terms. Simple really.
6. Koeman won't be doing this rebuilding every 12 months again, it's one of the reasons he come to blows with Les Reed towards the end of his reign at Southampton.

Won't replace him if hes sold now so 75m at this stage means nothing.

I couldn't imagine a world where £75m means nothing, although something interesting I read about Van Gaal at United, was that when he went to try and sign players, they immediately doubled the price because it was Manchester United.

If everyone knows the club has money, then it's a battle not to get fleeced and / or ripped off. The alternative is to take a gamble on an unproven player(s), which is what some clubs did and came good, then the whole cycle begins again. It's not guaranteed though, bit like match results.

Agree on that money meaning nothing, we have money now and don't seem to have been able to do anything with it, having more money in the bank won't help us one bit.
Clubs arn't meeting our valuations to let players go and the targets we have gone after have so far been blanked but not for lack of money on our part, we are either setting are targets to high or going after players who dont wat to move here.

Agreed pal but Koeman not looking to take a chance on players. His targets are been looked at to hit the ground running.
Game gone mad and its been a reality check for us all who expected us to have players in already

Why?

What would happen to him?

If he wants out, I'd let him go, he's no use to us if he doesn't want to be here as proven since the Chelsea Cup game. Leicester and Portugal have proved spirit is key, having cry arse fans is one thing but having players not giving their all is going to be detrimental.

Koeman has been playing Geri up front and encouraging him to close down defenders quick and force errors which he's done pretty well. I know the manager hasn't really had enough time with Lukaku yet but maybe Rom's more laid back approach to playing might not actually fit with the way Koeman wants us to play.
At the start of the summer i would have taken 60m for Rom and gladly sent him packing. His mouth and his attitude and his overal belittling of our club was insulting and with the new owner it looked like it was going to be an exciting summer. Now!!! I don't have the confidence we would replace him with a striker even half as good so what good would 70million be at this late stage.
That said Rom hasn't really 'played' for Everton since the turn of the year with the exception of Chelsea in the cup. Maybe we wouldn't miss him as much as we all think.

I initially though we'd see some players in straight away, but that's just the me that's been on here for years talking about takeovers and investment thinking it would never happen.

Now I realise that having a successful businessman in charge rather than maybe a frivolous but fortunate sheik, means that things will be slower than we've seen in previous takeovers at other clubs.

Like you say, I personally want to believe that anyone coming in is 100% right to be signed, and can hit the ground running.

I understand why fans are frustrated as they want to know everything right now. Perhaps it was just growing up through my best years without the potential menace that is social media. Ha.
