We will see what Rom is made of in the world cup

Drogba's scoring record was actually very average. Most seasons he only got around 10 goals. Rom has 12 already.

Plus he joined Chelsea when he was 25 and took a season to get going.

Drogba was great but you are remembering his entire career. I expect Rom to have a better career.
Yet Drogba basically dragged Chelsea to the European Cup and was one of the best players on a title winning team.

Rom has given us another example of what he's all about in the last week. Bullied Huddersfield before being horrific against a decent team. United should be out of the tie but their one genuinely world class player came to the rescue.

I wonder how his lawyers are getting on with Moshiri's lawyers?
Rumour is Rom's Lawyer had a meeting with Moshiri and was entertained on Usmanov's yacht in the black sea, he's not been seen since.

Do you mean the team that had Ballack, Makele and Lampard as their midfield and one of the best defenses and goalkeeper ever in the premiership?

That Chelsea team was far superior to the current Utd team which is very weak in midfield. Pogba was suppossed to be the world class player that would create and dictate the game but he's just not that kind of player. He actually reminds me of a better version of Barkley. Looks big and strong, shows great technique at times but when not in form is actually very ineffective at anything.

Those 3 for Chelsea would walk on to that Utd team.

Lukaku is bullying weaker teams because Utd (and to a lesser degree us) are bullying weaker teams. If they provide him service he will get goals.

09-10 mate. When Drogba scored 29 times.

Here is Drogba's record during his first spell with Chelsea in the league

2004–05 26 10
2005–06 29 12
2006–07 36 20
2007–08 19 8
2008–09 24 5
2009–10 32 29
2010–11 36 11
2011–12 24 5

So apart from that one season he only ever got above 20 goals once. In fact he only got above 12 once.

And... that season they didn't get to the Champions League final. They were put out in the round of 16.

No doubt Drogba was incredible but Rom got 25 goals for us and already his overall goal scoring record is far better playing for far worse teams.

Rom's stats

2012–13 38 17
2013–14 31 15
2014–15 36 10
2015–16 37 18
2016–17 37 25

And.... He's still younger than Drogba was when Drogba joined Chelsea plus Drogba's lack of first touch and general play was also scorned then too.

Ultimately Lukaku's career will depend on a number of thing but with the financial resources of Utd I think he will stay there for the next 6 seasons and probably win everything there is to win.

I can't see any striker in world football I would have over him given his age.
