Romelu Lukaku

His job was to score goals though, which he did very well.

He probably ranks as one of the clubs best ever signings for the money we paid.

The rest is all irrelevant.
From a business point if view he was, we got him cheap and sold him high, so from that side of things yes, but from a football side im not so sure

No doubt he will regain some form sometime soon and begin slotting again against teams in the bottom half of the table. That's as far as it goes though. He hasn't got the tools to be a grade 'A' striker in the Drogba mould and never will have by the looks of it.

Shouts of him returning to us are silly. He was good for us during the time he was here but we've moved on since then. This isn't last season when we were terrible and he would have been welcome to come back. We need a striker, but it has to be someone who can adapt to the way Marco's team plays and he isn't that person.

Inappropriate Language
Honestly can't understand why some of you would want him back. His first touch is envied by Steven Huntley and he looks like he's been locked in a pie shop for the last two years. He's overweight and [Poor language removed]. You did well to get rid and get so much money for him, why on earth would you want him back.

I wish I could remember which poster it was who said that Lukaku was better than Shearer, after he'd barged over some Steve Cook or Yoshida-type.

It was one of the really condescending ones as well.

Exactly. We badly needed him last season, but at least the team under Silva are coming together and proving we can manage without him.

His job is to score goals? Was his job not to score goals against the top 6 too or was he ok to go into hiding cos he knew it would be a tougher graft to do that and he could just grab a couple against West ham the next week. Your opinion is of the ilk that would he accepted us moving to a Tesco stadium in Kirby.... it's better than what we previously had so it will do.

Ranks as one of the best signings for the money we paid? How so.... he averaged 16 goals a season as our main striker costing £28m whilst offering nothing else other than a liability in terms of retaining the ball and passing it to a team mate. No hustle, no press, allowing himself to get bullied by smaller players. You think he offered more value than Cahill, Coleman, Baines, jags, Nigel Martyn, Southall, Reid, Steven, Sheedy, kanchelskis, and many many more I can name....

@pedro1976 something very sinister about your hatred of Big Rom mate.

Did he make panda love to your mrs?

Nah he took the piss out of my childhood sweetheart who I met in 1984 and who i enjoyed watching win things..... maybe that doesn't bother you too much.

But when you grow up watching players like Andy Gray header balls 6 inches off the floor, Peter Reid smash into a player who injured one of our own.... Southall protest at half time due to ineptitude of the club.... it makes you less tolerant of gobsh1tes like this fraud.

Worst part is so called Evertonians protecting him like we nurtured some true blue world class footballer. Quick to slate lineker for seeming to forget he played for Everton - at least he didn't when he was wearing the shirt which is more than can be said for the fraud.

Throughout his career, he'll consistently be a twenty-goal a season striker (bar the odd exception), but he will never be the international striker he desires to be.
