Not one mention of Everton.

Sack.

I can spot a red bauble on that Christmas tree emoji

In the spirit of Xmas drunkenness (even though I'm not drunk) I'm going to carry on about how much I like this guy.

I like the way he doesn't give a F, that he is hard as nails and willing to trample on anyone's feelings for the good of the team.

I like his interviews and tweets (refreshingly honest and non gushing after the ridiculous hyperbole of Martinez).

I even like the way he doesn't want to dedicate his life to the job and is willing to play golf and have meals with his family etc (as a manager myself in a different field I will work very hard within my 36 hours but won't give my time for free beyond this and I practice 1 minute manager and tell my staff what to do and expect them to get on with it being available to them for coaching when they need it).

Of course if we end up in the relegation zone with him or he jumps ship without doing a job here I am as fickle as the next man and will change my mind but at the moment (and relying on pure gut instinct) I'm going to say this guy is good, will bring us success and may even be here longer than we expect and that his initial contract suggests.

COYB

Come on King Ronald

Just watched his Christmas message and he genuinely seemed upbeat and excited, so hopefully that bodes well for the remainder of the season and the transfer window. Was basically saying to expect an improvement and good things, and recognising that they haven't been good enough for the fans.

Hope we see this on the pitch tomorrow and beyond.

What he said about surprises in 2017 actually did get me quite excited.
