Ronald Koeman discussion

I have it on good authority that big Ronald delivered a rousing, inspirational speech to the players just before our match against the champions. Apparently, he reminded them how privileged they are and challenged them to show that they are worthy of representing Everton Football Club and its fans.

7th is fine...i just find it amusing that were so poor and playing agricultural football yet were 7th lol

In frank I'm not arsed as long as Everton win. I cannot see the woeful record of 18 points from 19 games in the second half of last season (before the sacking) would be repeated. Koeman will be much better than that.

Despite just recently having a worse run of results?

I don't understand why people just take bits to suit their argument. 18 league games play and you cannot just ignore the first couple of games. It looks like the board will back Koeman in Jan. See where we will finish in May. 7th in May is a good improvement. A good start to build upon.

A good win to help us consign the derby result to history. There has been a lot of hysteria over the past few months but we are 7th as the year draws to a close. We are a good few points off 5th and 6th but Spurs and Man United will drop points as the season goes on.When they do we need to be ready to pounce. But i think most of us feel that anything from 6th place to 8th place would resemble a reasonable first season for Koeman and we are on course to achieve that at the very least. As 2016 draws to a close i do think while there have been issues some posters have been overstating them.I wouldn't say i am doing handstands and cartwheels over the first few months of the Koeman regime but i am reasonably satisfied with where we are right now and im quite confident that well drive it on in 2017.Hopefully the manager will get his transfer targets secured in January as well.In koeman i continue to trust.

Apparently we are 2 points ahead of Southampton who having a great season plus Koeman left them in good shape where Martinez left a mess. Koeman is doing a good job tbf

The other night really displayed the difference between Liverpool who can bring on a 26 mill striker and our squad when we are turning to Calvert Lewin in the same scenario (nothing against the lad). The top 6 have players on their benches who would walk into our first team. Not many of our players would now make their squads with the exception of Lukaku Gueye and maybe Williams.

Koeman needs a few windows, it's difficult to accept but there's no quick fix for this. My hope for the season is that Koeman can restore some tactical discipline, have players showing their best form, and get rid of this horrible bottling apathetic spineless attitude we have in big games. We'll be limited by a lack of quality no doubt but getting some of these fundamentals in place will set us up well for a good season next year.

Give him January, let's see how he gets backed and how we play second half of the season, 7th and a good cup run, players settled in, hopefully European togger next year and then see how we improve the squad during the summer.

Right now the footy is ugly, but we've been resoundingly beaten once this season, prefer substance over style right now, let the style come when we have the team the manager wants
