Ronald Koeman discussion

Williams was an average signing, £9.5mil+ and hes got a shelf life of 2 seasons + hes had 1 great game and a lot of mediocre ones.

Bolasie just lol lol lol lol

I think quite a lot posters agree all the Koeman (except Valencia) are good signings who serve the purpose.

Why lol at Bolasie? Was the best winger before he is injured. Yea we overpaid him but it is not just a waste of money like Niasse.

Williams was also a good signing as was Bolasie.

I agree with you about Williams. A very good signing indeed.

I disagree about Bolasie......leaving aside Niasse, Bolasie is possibly the worst value signing we have ever made, considering the price IMO.

It is no accident we started picking up points again almost from the moment he was injured when we trailed Manchester United.

Sorry :(

I'd rather win ugly than pass it round all nicely and lose.

This has been a 'back to basics' season so far. Build the foundations to make us hard to beat and solid, then we can start adding the frills
This, 110%.

The FM weirdos who pine for Martinez-style tiki-taka conveniently ignore the distinct possibility that had the fraud stayed in place, we'd probably be about 17th now, with Lukaku and Stones both poised to leave for knock-down prices. @banno summed it up nicely a page or two back: we're in a transition period where points matter more than style, which is why seven wins and five draws (getting us to 7th place) is pretty good going for the first eighteen games.

Why does it have to be an extreme

Why is it either hoof ball or tiki-taka, Why not a mixture

RK - I have yet to see his team put in a convincing 90 minutes in any game where I thought my he's got this high pressing game going -only v Spurs , and Arsenal did I see it for 80% - Liverpool 45 minutes
The football is so uncreative the goal keeper he signed for now the third time had a good start and has deteriorated - Robles looks far better two clean sheets = 6 points
he prefers to play oldies instead of youngsters we lack pace - Bollassie when fit looks a headless chicken costing far too much - we are 7th its a miracle with the football RK has turned out - His team selections give you the feel we are up against it before we run out onto the pitch - the first 45 minutes v a weakened Leicester team was so dire it reminded me of worse than the Walter Smith days -imo he inherited an ok squad of players with a good youth set up he needs to use it until he can buy maybe his style of players - contracts to older players is also baffling too suggesting the funds may not be there in the future or we have to sell our better players as per usual!

Where did I mention hoofball, Friend? I'm talking about results.

After 18 games we are on pace to beat Martinez's wins and points totals in both his second and third seasons. That's improvement.

Provided we sign a CM in January (to cover for Gana) I suspect we will stay on that pace and finish 7th - the current top six can, and often do, spend £100m in a window and if we want to depose them WITHOUT matching that spend, we need to give Koeman and Walsh time to assemble the squad they want.

Because the post you agreed 110% with suggested he would rather win with the current tactics than play tippy tappy football

I agree but wonder why it has to be one or the other
