The thing is, the players he has were largely the players that got 5th a few seasons ago and a record points total. This feller might be able to fool others with his blaming of the tools and not his own craftsmanship, but he doesn't fool me.
We're 7th. How we're 7th says more about the terrible quality of this league rather than his managerial skills. He's a negative, old fashioned hoof ball manager utterly clueless in setting a team up to play football.

What ambition if you don't have money to spend? Talking crap does not equal to ambition. Actions speak louder than itself. It depends on the board.
Koeman did say this last month.
"For next season we need to improve and we will get new signings in which will make the team stronger. The third year, we need to be close to playing in the Champions League."

Sorry you are just turning blind eye on the stuff you don't want to deal with. Open your eyes - 2014/2015 - 11th; 2015/2016 - 12th when Martinez was sacked. What was the point of talking about a squad three seasons ago while you completely ignore the history of the past 2 seasons? Basically you judge him after 10 odd games, ok.

That wasn't the quotation I read. Regardless, there's no way any ambition to get into the top four is becoming a reality with the muck he serves up.
I'll say this now without fear of overstatement: this football of the past 5 months is worse than from any manager I've witnessed...and I go back to the last couple of season's of Gordon Lee as boss....a time span which takes in a huge haemorrhoid like Walter Smith.

Close to CL qualification after three seasons? FFS, why? How is getting close to that an ambition fulfilled? Moyes got 4th and 5th; Martinez got 5th in his first season with a total that in any other season would have got 3rd never mind 4th.

When on earth this club has ever shown your so-called ambition since the inception of the Premier League in 1992? This club was owned by the like in Johnson and Kenwright. We had no money. Ambition was not shown though saying rubbish to the media aka Martinez "I'll get you top 4".
