We were humiliated in front of a global audience...Everton and their 'wild football'. That German weapon had us bang on under Koeman. Our 'football' beamed around the world. Agricultural, clueless, savage. Utterly embarrassing.

“This season we need to finish around a position where the team is now. But everybody knows the normal ambition of the club [to go higher] is also my ambition.“We need to finish in a position around where the team is now. Everybody knows that is the ambition of the club, and also my ambition".
Sorry, if Moyes would have come out with that he'd have been battered.
7th place = ambition for Southampton mate. You need to go and brush up on the club's history you say you're aware of.
Lets have it right: 7th is adequate. It is NOT an ambition for this club. Any manager who says it should be needs to be educated.
The thing is, the players he has were largely the players that got 5th a few seasons ago and a record points total. This feller might be able to fool others with his blaming of the tools and not his own craftsmanship, but he doesn't fool me.Think he did say this season. He said this is a long term project.
Mate this has to be backed by the board. Funds must be provided. What's the problem if he is being pragmatic for the time being, given the squad we have at the moment? You can spout loads of bull out like getting top 4 but if you can't do it, it's just tosh.

...and how I'm I saying his job should be under threat because of it?Yet, under Martinez you said the opposite - preaching no Everton manager should have their job questioned for mid table finishes...
What ambition if you don't have money to spend? Talking crap does not equal to ambition. Actions speak louder than itself. It depends on the board.
Koeman did say this last month.
"For next season we need to improve and we will get new signings in which will make the team stronger. The third year, we need to be close to playing in the Champions League."
Do I? I went missing after the demolition derby too - so where does that leave us?

We're 7th. How we're 7th says more about the terrible quality of this league rather than his managerial skills. He's a negative, old fashioned hoof ball manager utterly clueless in setting a team up to play football.
That wasn't the quotation I read. Regardless, there's no way any ambition to get into the top four is becoming a reality with the muck he serves up.“This season we need to finish around a position where the team is now. But everybody knows the normal ambition of the club [to go higher] is also my ambition.
“But it needs to be a realistic target and that is difficult. Sometimes the people are not always realistic when you need time to improve and you need time to get a better team. When I spoke to Everton I realised the situation of the club and the challenge to move them on. I knew at that time that it was difficult. It is long-term job - not for two weeks or two months.”
Sounds a little bit different for me.
Tonight's team selection will tell us something!
Close to CL qualification after three seasons? FFS, why? How is getting close to that an ambition fulfilled? Moyes got 4th and 5th; Martinez got 5th in his first season with a total that in any other season would have got 3rd never mind 4th.What ambition if you don't have money to spend? Talking crap does not equal to ambition. Actions speak louder than itself. It depends on the board.

I'll say this now without fear of overstatement: this football of the past 5 months is worse than from any manager I've witnessed...and I go back to the last couple of season's of Gordon Lee as boss....a time span which takes in a huge haemorrhoid like Walter Smith.
