Ronald Koeman discussion

Fraud's dont get club points record totals.

As things stand Koeman wont get near that. Ever.

It was 5th. I don't want to argue with you on this 72 points trophy thing it is getting boring. He took this club backwards after his first season.

Moyes got 4th which was already a greater achievement. Ask other Evertonians, do a poll or something. 4th or the 72 points trophy? Which one is a greater achievement?

My question is simple on that score:

If Moyes first season in charge got us in the top 5 for most of the season and then falling away to 7th...with a really tripe squad;
and if Martinez came in first season and had us 5th playing in a manner that we all found a joy to watch....why are we excusing Koeman in his first season?

Koeman has a huge rebuilding job though to be fair. Martinez inherited a solid squad (minus a striker).

still prefer the way martinez played last season over the way Leicester did last season Dave?
Yes.

Leicester are the epitome of anti-football...found out big time this season.

At least under Martinez we always attempted to play the right way, the Everton way.

Mainly cos of Martinez.

fraud or not a fraud Dave?
Am I supposed to say a manager like Villas Boas who also got a club record points tally is poor? How does that work? You get a record and it's bad and makes you a fraud?

Remember the 0-0 when it was only luck that saw Ibe denied a winner mate, that performance was far inferior to the last derby,
I remember that derby as both teams settling for a draw early on. And I also remember Coleman near winning it at the death with the best chance of the game.

Perceptions I suppose...

Think he is plying his trade in the football hot house that is China now mate.

Massive upgrade.

OK, second season, run of games - 1 win in 12, 4 draws and 7 losses in those 12.
we scored 6 goals in those 12 games in total, we conceded 17 goals
we failed to score in 8 of those 12 games
in 6 of the losses we failed to score a goal.

tell me Dave, is that the Everton way?

Neither really. We got 4th but didnt make group stages. Both amounted to eff all

I dont claim a trophy for it mate. It is what it is. It's just there in any record list on the club and will be until another Everton manager (hopefully soon) comes along and trumps it.

72 points trophy lad...yeah, what a laff eh? Still...it is a fact and it will be so until it's not. End of story.

8 PL defeats at Goodison in one season. That was also some record.

Huge rebuilding? Not what was being claimed this time last season though mate.

A 'terrible squad' is strictly for the birds. It's bandied about by people embarrassed that they wanted Martinez out so much and now have to justify the present manager's terrible tutelage of those resources.

Truth is this hoof ball master cant get a tune out of them because he's incompetent at anything other than getting the ball back to front ASAP. We are a long ball team now. Get used to it.
