Ronald Koeman discussion

I really don't get the levels of fume. We're 7th in the league and unless we make some fantastic signings (we won't) it's not going to change any time soon.

We're not a great team but we're lucky that the standard throughout the league is pretty dire.

I understand why he rotated his team with a lot of games coming up in a short period.

But with Gueye going away for the best part of a month, why not rest Barry (who started v Leicester) for Davies who needed games if we don't sign a central midfielder.

I understand changing the formation because you can't have the same setup, week in and week out (- See Moyes/Martinez).

But to change formation, the players need to learn in real game situations and teams like Hull are ideal because despite tonights result we are better so we can adjust.

We should've won despite Koeman's chances or players but that's football.

This season is tough and will be hard pill to swallow but we can't just bring a manager and it changes overnight with the players we have.

Conte, Jose, Pep, Klopp all walked into teams with front to back international players worth millions.

Koeman had 3 players he brought in v Hull and 5 first teamers 29 or older.

He needs time, backing and support.

We didnt do that against hull. You probably didnt even saw the game. You're overrating this squad massively. You're expecting good football with this team, wake up thats not gonna happen.
Why isnt good football on the agenda this season?!

Why is that too much to ask?!

First season for Martinez, just as this is Koemans. We've won three games in three and half months mate...and we're playing hoofball against any team that doesn't sit in the relegation zone.

Don't excuse this. It's inexcusable.
You can't compare Martinez taking over Moyes 6th place side to Koeman taking over Martinez's disaster that the side had become.

It is Dave, its shocking, what do you suggest, heres our options :

1. We sack him
2. We give him more time and money to build the squad he wants
3. We cry and moan after every game about how much better it was 3 years ago and how Martinez got 72 points

Choose wisely.

Someone please tell me what his game plan is?
We knew moyes had a particular style, we knew brown shoest had a style but what the fluffing hell is koemams style or plan?
It looks like a pile of [Poor language removed] at the moment.
People keep saying they're not his players, ok, but do something with those you have.
It's stale, it's slow and it looks awful.
I am worried because he doesn't look like he has a plan and doesn't look remotely arsed.
Disappointing beyond belief

Koeman tweet...

"We didn't play our best game tonight. But we fought to the end, created chances and came back from behind twice."

Lol.

Getting very boring, hearing the same rubbish trotted out about Martinez as a means to attack Koeman.

Martinez got given a squad regularly in the top 6/7 some of whom had finished 4th.
And in two years managed to turn them into a bottom half of the premier league squad. Amazing management skills.
What he managed to do in his first season owes more to Moyes than it does to him.
HIS SQUAD, that he built and trained and prepared created a team that could barely win at home and an atmosphere that was so toxic, home and away, that he had to be removed.

Koeman got given a squad who were in the bottom half, twice, and has managed to get them to be 7th at the mid point of the season. I'd say that was progress.

And before anyone goes whining or whinging about this not being the Martinez thread......don't keep bringing up "record points" rubbish and not expect that to be demoloished. Any credit that was gained in his first season was more then wiped out by what happened in the rest of his time here. Thank god for Moshiri because without him we would probably be below Hull in the table playing crab football under Martinez.

At least we didn't lose 2 nil like the last time we travelled to play an already doomed Hull side over the festive period.
Oh great, the nostalgia files out again.

Koeman is here now. Let's focus on this manager.

Going well isn't it? Three wins in 15 games.

Got his tactics wrong tonight. Barry and Jagielka is asking for trouble.

Played the kids and that's good to see. Calvert-Lewin hits the target (which he should have) and we're talking differently.

Needs to learn from this. Just hope he does.

Lol.

That's the problem, we shouldn't have been having to come back from being behind twice (if you know what I mean) against the team who sit bottom of the league, low on confidence, crap.
