However if there's no craft, or guile, or apparent willingness to make even a token effort (Especially from some of them) , then these things can become routine and contagious.

Let's assume we're going to keep all the players we want (and need) to keep and buy all the players of the level that we've been linked with (or indeed should be looking to get) and, for me, we should be thinking along these lines:

GK ??
Coleman
Baines (for 1 or 2 years)
CH ??
Stones (if he wants to stay)
Mid
Mid
Mid
Mid
Barkley
Lukaku (if staying)

or something like that.. basically there are only 5 players in the current squad of senior players really worth their place in the side - I'll reserve judgment on the younger ones who deserve a chance to shine. I'd be keen to keep those five and of them 2 want away and one (Baines) is the wrong side of 30. Of the rest the others are more or less in on sufferance - Mirallas, Jags or RFM, Stek (or Robles), Geri or Lennon, 2 defensive mids (though perhaps Gani is up to the mark) because there's been no improvement in the squad from last season - most of this side is picking itself on the basis of being just about worth a place - where's the competition, the new players, the numbers to compete for a place and therefore for honours?

We´ve looked exactly like what we are, a squad of middling premier league players with a couple of frustrated want-away players of higher quality. Add to that the difference between us and say Stoke and West Ham who have squads of similar quality is that our players look absolutely shot psychologically. There seems to be no fight or togetherness in them whatsoever.

This is going to be the biggest barrier to overcome the psychological aspect. You can see the frustration of koeman on the touch line, the players are not implementing what he wants. Now either 'old habits die hard' and many are still playing the 'martinez' way or ability wise they are not up to it and koeman will bring in the players he wants to play the system he wants. I guess it will be the latter.

Again what promises haven't been met? You keep banging on about how we where promised the world, when the truth is we weren't, Moshiri has done exactly what he said he would, invested in a new management team, invested in ground improvements, provided a transfer kitty (which isn't really his fault if players are stalling is it), and the biggest one for me is he is close to securing not the ground, but there really is no point debating things with the negative crowd as you just seem to like shouting the loudest about how everything is crap and we are doomed

Everyone would rather have top signings than lesser ones. That´s obvious. It´s not just you who wants good players to join.

But with the squad shockingly in need of numbers don´t you think it might be an idea to revise our plans a bit at this stage? Or how long do you suggest we wait? Up to ten minutes before the windows shuts?

We haven't played ONE competitive game this season yet, the window is still open for 3 weeks, yet people like you want to go flying planes over the ground because we didn't win the Dresden cup or sign messi within the first day of the window, stick a fork in me I am literally done in this thread
