Ronald Koeman discussion

Ok so out of the 3 games played only 1 Southampton player has started in them all (Romeu), 5 of the starting 11 today didn't start against WBA and have rested since Spurs on the 28th

On the flip side 6 of our starting eleven today started in all 3 xmas games Williams/Baines/Coleman/Gana/Lukaku and Kev

Tell me again how it would be them who run out of steam
A team has also to prepare and train for opponents and two days less is a massive ask to do quick turnaround preparations.

Question: would you have liked us to have been the team playing it's third game today over the last 6 days, or would you have preferred we were the team that had the 8 days schedule?

That's 48 hours resting up and preparation time more that we had. Do you really think that wouldn't have a huge part to play in the result?

I've been the match today and I'm buzzing we won. Just got in.

I'm now gonna have a read through the match day thread and see all the happy posts at the time the goals went in. I've got Jeff Stelling's show recorded and I'm gonna watch that to see the pundits reaction to our 3 goals and finally I'll then search for any radio commentarys I can find on various stations 'listen again' features.

After that I have MOTD set to record and Nissan match Choice on record on SS1.

Now I know that may be sad, but I think it's brilliant when we win and 7 points over Christmas will do just nicely.

The fume is ridiculous.

It does smack of wummery.

Why would you do that when you could come on here and watch a cat-orange absolutely losing the plot over Everton winning and blaming it on days of the week?

I'm not fuming at all mate. This is a marathon not a sprint. Unfortunately I can see that Koeman is going to struggle here to give us anything other than a good run and then a bad run, a good run then a bad run. That's the type of manager he is. Streakiness like that is due to a lack of a convincing method that can ride out dips in the form of key players. This is what we'll see until he leaves.
Come on Dave - you make some good points when you post but there now being lost with what is now an obsession against our manager. The fact is we're 7th and whichever way we look at it we area damn sight better off if RM would still have been here. There remains lots of tough days ahead but for yoday we won 3 0 and let's enjoy rather than spin rest days etc etc.

Southampton 3-0 Everton
Everton 0-1 Stoke
Newcastle 3-2 Everton
Hull 2-0 Everton

After our 4th defeat out of 4 over the festive period the season before last, this was @davek defence of that utter fraud.

Now after a solid opening to the year I'm reading him putting it down to how many games Southampton have played, instead of just enjoying the victory.
No idea what your stalking represents here, tbh.

We know you dont like Koeman but just reign it in mate eh? Never known a supporter that butt hurt over a manager being sacked that he'll go out his own way to hate the next one regardless of the results/performances. God help you if he's here for the next 2-3 seasons as your in for many weekends of disappointment mate.

At 1700 hours today

I'd like a win that was carved out and planned and perfectly executed. I dont think we saw that today. We saw a tired team versus a very tired team, both of whom are as bad as each other and would cacel each other out under normal

Is it THAT difficult to accept that this was the deciding factor today? It's abundantly clear to me that it proved so. How is it even remotely controversial to make that point?

You didn't answer my question mate.
Just answer
1. Today's win.
Or
2. The stoke 4 3 loss

Half there outfield players hadn't played since the 28th, Only 3 had played the full 90 in the previous game

6 of our outfield 10 had played the full 180mins in the two games before this

Utter lolz Dave

It was only when Lennon went off as he was dire the changed formation gave us the very good win - again not a complete satisfactory 90 minutes , but the win was nice 3-0 was nice like , but overall still one shot on target in 45 minutes on target, more pluses then minuses today though from back to front in the team !
It was 3 points and we accept them gratefully. However, all things being equal that late surge would not have materialised.

I cant understand why some are so desperate and insecure that they cant allow for that analysis.
