Koeman was my choice to succeed Martinez. Not sure hw that fits into your theory like.

Look, after 6 months here an assessment of his overall performance and what we can expect is legitimate. IMO he is a manager that doesn't have a lot of smarts. He wants athleticism and pace and sometimes that serves you well, as it has some teams in the past. But I see no ability to craft a creative blend of players and a brand of football that can be turned to when playing long balls dont engineer chances.

That's my assessment thus far. If the evidence changes then so too will my opinion.

Not unfair at all it's your opinion we have half a season to go people on here just seem to jump down people's throats the Delboy one last night early hours I got stick just live with it Dave, you are right to have your own opinion -
I was so glad to see us win first 45 minutes on here not everyone was praising our team it's football!
At the end of the day though with Davis in midfield and Ross and Gaye we had pace in there it made a big difference

There is no game mate. I'm offering a reasonable overview of the way today's match panned out and my thoughts on the manager's chances here based on over half a season's worth of evidence.

Exactly mate. If you go into that matchday thread and read up until we made the breakthrough on 73 minutes the analysis was that it was another friggin turgid performance. The only thing that changed was the energy levels of our opponents dipping enough for us to find a way through. It really is as simple as that.
 
Not even Puel had made the fixture schedule an excuse for his team's defeat. Yet here on an Everton forum we have a self- obsessed WUM who claims to be a supporter blaming the fixture list for his team's win he is so gutted about it.

Kin unbelievable.
 
We're seventh, on thirty points with just over half the season over.

That's by no means an outstanding achievement, but it's not awful either.

Doubtless in what's left of the season we'll hit another bad patch and the knives will be out, but Koeman's doing a reasonable job.

In the next eighteen months he needs to show that he can move us on a little from our current league position and do that while improving the quality of what we see on the pitch, which isn't wonderful at the moment, but tis early days.

If he does that, then no reasonable Evertonian can complain.

Replacement for Martinez ?

Turn it in Dave you were advocating that we keep Martinez and RK was not what we need.

It was the substitution of Lennon then we played with 11 men , and we don't often do that under RK that changed it imo
Going back to,two upfront got us the breakthroughs and our confidence grew - let's hope we learn from that;)
