Ronald Koeman discussion

A very accurate assessment of our current squad. It's the worst squad in 12 years imo.
And yet the most collectively aloof and arrogant that I can remember, especially when you consider that most of them have achieved virtually nothing in the game.

Yep.

Even Koeman's arrival hasn't seemed to injected any fresh impetus into them.
And that's he nail on the head.

It's the same players over and over again. Nothing new, even fairly new additions are injured or not even playing. We need new players to rejuvenate the squad , look what difference adding all those players did 3 years ago considering how poor the manager was. Years of stale football and adding 5 new into the squad with 3 more following made us look like a new team.

As much as del and Kev and the like can like the big I am being mainstays, there is still no competition, no pressure on anyone to perform and no one to come in and make a difference

Dave your playing with numbers here. If we sell Lakaku and stones and re invest into 4/5 30m players which overall significantly improved the awad

!
Whether we use the term reinvest or recycle, it'd still add up to the same thing.

I agree that getting in four £25m-£30m players by selling Lukaku and especially Stones sounds attractive, but really we should be seeing a situation where are best is retained and improved under an apparently top manager AND we see significant levels of spending to boost the squad to CL place challenging levels.

Seemingly now, though, the script has changed since the early part of the summer.

A wholly innacurate statement Dave.
Then why isn't it being spent?

If we can't get primary targets then move onto a list of secondary ones until we find a willing seller/player. It really is no good hanging on and hanging on. We had a season to prepare for and we've already blown that preparation period. And I doubt very much that Koeman is adamant on a purity of purpose in terms of transfer targets. He's a pragmatist it strikes me from his decision making thus far. He'd never have wanted to start the season hamstrung like this.

Post with foundation, based on Martinez time in the Premier League, this looks like you're ignoring What Koeman did in bettering Potchetinno. Martinez couldn't better Bruce or Jewell.

Koeman bettered Poch did he?

Or did he just ride on his coat-tails i wonder.

Besides you were too busy to notice what anyone else was doing in your endless tirades against Martinez after he reached 5th.

Without searching for the evidence, I thought Koeman had a reputation for dealing late in the window? (Happy to be corrected on that).

I'm expecting movement this week on several of our primary targets now Pogba move is concluding.

Good business is often about judging when is the best time to change strategy when things appear not to be going your way. I don't think the club (Moshiri, Walsh and Koeman ) feel we have reached that point yet - for good reason.
