Ronald Koeman discussion

Just remembered the winner qualifies for the champions league.

I'm all for it, just wish it wasn't so many games to begin with.
The format of the competition is it's biggest fault. They need to make it a straight two legs knockout competition without all the champions league failures dropping in and you'd find people less likely to talk down about it.

Oh god I forgot about the champions league teams dropping in - what a joke, it's like prem teams who don't make it far in the FA cup going into the johnsons paint trophy.

I don't really mean his exact style, but more of a general progressive passing style. Not that I can say with authority that Koeman's style is the opposite of that. I just know I don't like what I have seen so far.

Anyway, we are getting on to personal preference here. We have the manager we have, and I will judge him on whether whatever style he has works after a reasonable amount of time. The comments on whether or not the style is "good" would just purely be based on my own wants.

I knew what you meant, Bike ;)

I'll argue with that

The ECWC was the 2nd in importance of the three

For example, if you qualified for both the UEFA Cup and the ECWC, you went into the ECWC as it was the higher-ranked competition

If you qualified for the European Cup and the ECWC, you went into the European Cup
I don't remember it being thought of like that but I wont argue, long time ago, my question was still valid.

We've done this about three times in nearly 20 games.

You are so 'half glass full' aren't you toff.

I admire that, and as you know I think you're a good poster.

But every now and then, things like this make me want to stick my feet in a blender.

We did it in the first five games of the season. We lost it in that awful run and I won't dispute that.

What we have found in the last few games (basically, Arsenal onwards) is that we have at least played with a bit more intensity and been a lot more clinical in our finishing.

Lots of improvements to be made. And there's loads needed. But the signs are there.
