He needs to be backed now and summer to even start having his own team
He certainly does. I think regardless of who was in charge, a few of that squad needed binning from the off.

I hate it when clubs and fans don't take the Europa league seriously. We slog away for 10 months to qualify for europe and then people complain about extra games and managers play the youth team. I don't get that at all. I loved the years when we would regularly qualify for the (then) UEFA cup. Great night matches at Goodison and the odd european away day.Which will no doubt lead to more complaints from the normal suspects about the 'added burden of a nothing competition' until we inevitably crash out and the same fools complain about a 'wasted opportunity'. We really are in a lose-lose scenario with some of our own fans atm.
2 seasons of finishing 11th and people are now turning their noses up at 7th as a starting point.
I just dont know what to say.
In which case it's top 4 or nowhere then? I disagree completely. Doing well in Europe energises the fan base, promotes the club abroad and gives us another chance of winning something.I'll be honest I'm not a fan of the Europa league, at least not until the knockout rounds.
If we end up keeping the likes of Gibson and Mccarthy, they can play in it along with the kids and if we get far, then take it seriously.

now now, no need for such a bizarre claim.I didn't realise we were only allowed to discuss the manager after a defeat, how bizarre.
Agree and it's not like we are spoilt for choice. I wonder if people would have like the European Cup Winners Cup in '85, that was deemed the lesser of the 3 at the time.
I see the Europa League differently mate. I see it as an opportunity for us. What do we compete for all season if we aren't aiming for the Europa? The Europa League is a massive opportunity that only the Premier League teams acts all snobby about. I'd take it very seriously if we got in and make it a big priority. Winning the Europa would be more likely to attract players then season after season of sixth place. Plus the trips to Europe following the blues are just ace!I'll be honest I'm not a fan of the Europa league, at least not until the knockout rounds.

just pointing out that 40 pages seemed excessive.

There's about 10 millions differences & perception to potential new playersYou appear to be missing the fact that 5th and 15th are absolutely no different mate.
Personally mate when it's clicked this season I think we've looked good.
We've played with the 'robust' tenacity we had under Moyes but also the quick, incisive style present in RM's first season.
However, it hasn't clicked enough - yet. I think it'll come together though, and that process will quicken up if we have a good window.

This is a big difference now. Should be a priority if we qualify as it's the best chance of CL footy in the short termJust remembered the winner qualifies for the champions league.
I'm all for it, just wish it wasn't so many games to begin with.
