Ronald Koeman discussion

What are you seeing that makes you say that - not trying to be awkward, just genuinely haven't seen much progress in recent weeks.

As I say I think we are stronger defensively but a lot of that happened in the first few weeks and has been intermittent since. The fitness of the squad seems to have improved as well, indeed our best spells are often at the end of matches.

But I'd hoped that that would have then been built on with some progress in our attacking looking more dangerous and fluid but tbh can't see signs of much of a plan in most games other than in the dying minutes. I know you say wait for 12 players but even with that high level of recruitment you'd still have some of the existing players here/injuries like Bolasie's so I would hope to see evidence that Koeman can achieve things through coaching rather than just recruitment.

Harder to beat really and more tactically adaptable. Which was the only way we could go after the basketball garbage we endured for 2 seasons.

Look, it's not pretty, it's far from good and I'm extremely frustrated. But I think we are better than last year.

Thankfully the sheer lack of quality in our squad has finally dawned on most fans, and we now know we need massive overhaul. I've every faith Koeman will deliver if seriously backed by the board. They need to up their game enormously.

It's great that Koeman is fuming. It's also great he's putting pressure on the board.

Moyes and Martinez were both guilty of not doing that.

When you consider he was nicked on the vision and all that, it is difficult to not have some sympathy with his position.

Guess its getting to put up or shut up soon.

Some people in power thought we have a better squad than we think. It is absolutely not true because Martinez left a crap squad with no work rate and pressing ability. That's why our manager asks the board to open their eyes and see the truth.

Can't say I blame him - 1-0 up and the blow it. Bunch of useless bottlers.

It's pretty clear that Mori is not up to the task.
Barry is finished (he comes back into the side and we fall apart).
Barkley is blowing hot and cold.
Davies is part of the future of our MF.
We need a LEADER in this team - time to Jags to hand over the armband. Perhaps to an existing player (Coleman? Williams?)
We need a striker play with Rom. Valencia is not the answer, Kone is finished, DCL needs another season or two to show what he has got.
We need that player in the CM to create the spark - Morgs may just be that player - get him in asap.

Board and Walsh......over to you. Time to put your money where your mouth is ;)

Been better than Jags mate, and lately there hasn't been much to choose between him and Williams.

I'm not judging Koeman yet because I just have no trust in this squad of players. They're toxic after the Martinez years. At least he has tightened up our defence - teams were cutting through us at will last season.

I've maintained that this is a tough window. So it's a difficult predicament.

I have hope but tbh I'd have a lot more faith if I could see him incrementally improving our attacking organisation week on week even without new recruits.

But at least we can fully agree on the board issue!
