Ronald Koeman discussion

Great post Chaz

We were crying out for 'honesty' last season. Now we've had it we don't like what it tastes like it seems!

Its refreshing - it won't make EVERYONE happy, but ill be made up listening to Koeman saying about how players aren't upto the challenge kicking them up the arse then listening to someone who was telling a player they where the best on the planet after an absolutely pitiful performance.

I want honesty, i got it - its going to be bumpy, but I would rather that then listening to endless tripe.

Will make the pressers fun again.

He may do, but the natural indication to a 'top striker' (not that there's many about) if Everton first made contact would probably be 'I'll be playing second fiddle'

All I'm saying is he hasn't had a long period of time since coming in and assessing the squad to go out and buy a striker

Martinez bought two of the worst strikers in the league and has left us with one striker worth a ham shank

Had six weeks to stop blaming Martinez for everything mate.
The damage that clown inflicted on this club will take much longer then six weeks to fix mate. He completely decimated the confidence in our players along with their general fitness and left us with a load of dead wood like Kone and Niasse. It will take a good season if not more to get us back to the level we should be at.

Oh I agree with that mate totally, was more a general point :)

...er......Kone A

Nah mate, think we will basically sit back in this and try to hit a spurs side dominating possession on the counter with pace, looking at the likely team we will have out though, don't exactly feel optimistic about the game...

Hoping we actually play Kenny (if available) and Davies and try to ride the energy and desire of those two now

It was incredibly refreshing from Koeman like. Everybody was rightfully so disillusioned with Martinez's head-in-the-clouds style of interviewing, "phenominal" this, "satisfying" that, then excessive use of "swagger", "confidence" and "arrogance" all whilst we were sitting in the bottom half of the table, being beaten at home every second game. I really disliked the guy for a long time and hope he gets found out at Belgium, just as he did here. Koeman pulls no punches, and it is beautiful. I hope the players respond to him and we have a good season.
Regarding Booby, I do not think you will find any on here (well, maybe one or two), who'll disagree with you there mate.

Spot on. If that press conference had been Martinez, he'd have been telling us how everyone is in a great moment of form and all the other clichés he used to roll out

Writing this season of before it even starts and that's not because I think Koeman won't be a good signing for us

He's playing catch up trying to add 6-7 players to a very poor squad, All those players will have to have time to bed in

He's battling to get them up to a good standard of fitness so they can play a high pressing game, I think he will have been shocked at how off the pace they are in comparison to the Southampton players

I think we are going to start poorly and slowly get better over the course of the season, Top 10 is my thinking in all honestly, Maybe a good cup run
