Ronald Koeman discussion

in Davek defense, we did have the highest point accumulation ever under Roberto, progressed far in the Europa the second year, and made it two 2 semis in year 3.
Koeman has picked up the mess he left. We have or are about to loan 4 first team squad players to Hull, Preston, Watford and QPR, non of which are goalkeepers, so in a squad of 25 he was left with 18 outfield players (deducting the 3 GK) then add to that Moyes players Jags, Barkley, Baines, Gibson and Coleman you are left with 13 Martinez and Koeman players. Basically a complete mess. Martinez got 21 points from his last 20 league games, Koeman has 30 from his first 20.

Undeniable improvement.

So???? Koeman will not be overseeing the lowest points total gained at home for years...btw we actually Lost the 2 semis. RK needs time to detox EFC -el fraudo got 3 years. Lets give RK the same amount of time shall we?

I am more than willing to give Koeman time, but he hasnt been some revelation. He is maybe as good as Moyes so far.

Spot on Ian lad

Hands down the most unfair criticism of a manager yet, not a manager in world football has his team into Europe for next season yet.
Well then phrase it this way. What has he done for the club? We are not entertaining, we are not close to qualifying on our own for a European spot, and we have crashed out of both tournaments we were in at the very first game. He has belittled a number of current players, treated Hibbo and Osman like crap and has yet to ever admit to a mistake that he has made.

Again, I am willing to give him time, but so far he hasn't really accomplished anything.

Bit different in circumstances (one manager losing his players, the other gaining players wanting to impress).

And the most part, those 30 points are from Martinez's players who he's getting rid off.

I'd say the opening two months were based on these players wanting to show what they can do. Then the more Koeman wants to imprint his style and the players struggled to adapt, result dropped.

Nor has any manager this season.

How has he, or more realistically the club, treated Hibbo and Osman like crap? Their contracts were not renewed, and both have been an absolute drain on resources for a few seasons. You would have lobbed them 2 year extensions like Gibson? (Which Koeman agreed to because it was offered before he was in situ).

Osman and Hibbert were released because they weren't good enough, that was handled before Koeman arrived, are you suggesting Koeman said 'no new contract and be nasty about it'?

When you say qualify for a European spot on our own, I assume you're referencing us needing cup results to get us a EL spot?

Problem is Spurs don't have AVB (sacked 13/14) and UTD don't have Moyes (Sacked 13/14) that's the reason we got 5th. If either of them performed to squad potential Martinez would've been relying on cup results also.

We also have 18 games to go.
