Ronald Koeman discussion

Bit different in circumstances (one manager losing his players, the other gaining players wanting to impress).

And the most part, those 30 points are from Martinez's players who he's getting rid off.

I'd say the opening two months were based on these players wanting to show what they can do. Then the more Koeman wants to imprint his style and the players struggled to adapt, result dropped.
Can you name them players that have been so influential to our points tally?

Ok, you two are right, the Hibbo and Osman issue was done by the club but it still was not handled well. I just do not see any good qualities about Koeman besides that the players have to at least respect him because of his accomplishments. However, I think he relies on this too much.

Osman and Hibbert were released because they weren't good enough, that was handled before Koeman arrived, are you suggesting Koeman said 'no new contract and be nasty about it'?

When you say qualify for a European spot on our own, I assume you're referencing us needing cup results to get us a EL spot?

Problem is Spurs don't have AVB (sacked 13/14) and UTD don't have Moyes (Sacked 13/14) that's the reason we got 5th. If either of them performed to squad potential Martinez would've been relying on cup results also.

We also have 18 games to go.
You finish were you deserve to finish in the Prem, that's why it is a great leveller. We deserved the position that season we also desrved to finish were we did the following two

Well then phrase it this way. What has he done for the club? We are not entertaining, we are not close to qualifying on our own for a European spot, and we have crashed out of both tournaments we were in at the very first game. He has belittled a number of current players, treated Hibbo and Osman like crap and has yet to ever admit to a mistake that he has made.

Again, I am willing to give him time, but so far he hasn't really accomplished anything.
Koeman was given a target of europa league football in two years ! Without his own team ! But with half a squad who are two old or ain't good enough to play his way ! He spoke honestly after the Leicester game that he needed his targets in now ! Barkley has taken the Critism well when Barry does not play rosco has more time to do his thing and plays well so it was a transition year for koeman but if we get the results results go our way we will have European football next season and koeman would have hit the target a year earlier then expected !! so maybe it's boring football ATM but stability and European football is a must so if they have to play boring to get results and points so be it better then getting stuffed playing martinez so called phenomenal football

I didn't say we didn't deserve to finish where we did. I said it was aided by other managers failing, other managers whose time at said clubs was actively hammered by fans of Martinez in this very forum. Ironically.

Just think its daft pulling up non Koeman issues to beat him about the head with.

Fact is, every footballer ever eventually finishes playing. Handled badly? Ok.

So would it be fair to say we are sitting in elevated position this season due to Leicester, West Ham and even Southampton not performing like last season. You finish were you deserve as you can only beat what is put in front of you. I can agree in getting to finals by a percentage of luck, but not final league position

Yeah ok. Because finishing above Spurs and UTD is the same to Everton as finishing above the clubs you mention.

Ok mate. Let's predict the future to hammer the manager.

Not hammering him. Was just pointing out the points tally to games compared to the two managers in different periods isn't a good example to say he's improved us immensely from last season.

We are better organised. If your team is like that in the last two seasons, you tend to do fine in this league. See West Brom currently

I never said immensely. My point is clear, most people on this very forum were somewhere between dissatisfied to angry on the Summers transfer window (I wasn't but accept I was in the minority) yet with Martinez' squad and a 'disappointing' window he has bettered our last 20 league games by 9 points in his first 20 league games.
