Ronald Koeman discussion

Maybe. Or perhaps it is the inverse square root of Koeman saying, "This team is in a lot worse shape than I first thought. What have I let myself in for?"

It's not. At all. It's him telling it how it is. Any manager who is saying his side are 100% match fit and ready for the Premier League season is lying through their teeth. They'll be as ready as they're gonna get without actually playing.

BTW, Spurs (a side whose last PL win came on April 18th and picked up two points from their last available 12) are a lot less prepared than us in terms of game time in pre-season, plus they've flown to Aus and back minus one of their key/best players... I can't imagine their fans will be whinging/heads falling off like this before a ball has even been kicked in anger...

Good presser that, I'm a fan of the 'telling it like it is' approach from Koeman. The fitness thing isn't an excuse, it's just him expressing what he wants out of his squad and I'm confident he'll get them were he wants them soon enough. By the end of the window we'll look a lot healthier.

The only concern is the Rom situation, seems pretty uncertain still. Really hope we can keep him.

Head is firmly in place here. However, it cannot be denied that the previous tenants left the place in a bit of a mess, so there is a job in hand here and the boss is no doubt beginning to realise just how big a job it is. People will have to be patient. Saying we are somehow, not quite 100% ready simply alludes to this fact (its not just about physical fitness).

Agree 100%

Koeman is going to be so refreshing. A no-nonsense manager who says it how it is. Really excited for this chapter of being a bluenose. (Note i said chapter and not this season, as this is going to take time)

Interesting first press conference. He's serious, straight-talking and grim. Always had mixed feelings about positivity and reverse psychology and playing mind games, but the press conferences go a long way to building confidence in the fans. I know what many of us think about RM in balance, but stuff like money can't buy you everything, and Moyes' People's Club..all those kinds of things really help to motivate the fans. at least, one thing, like many other clubs demand support from the fans, (as if loads of money is not enough) he is talking a lot of sense in saying that 'we need to show the fans and get them interested'. Totally missed the Pennington news :( . So Besic, Pennington, Jags, Lukaku, Coleman, Williams, Browning, all out for Saturday!!
