Ronald Koeman discussion

Nope. He was paid for the contract(s) he was given by his employer. Nobody robbed anybody of anything.

@tommye The voice of reason ;)

You'd imagine he'll take the path of least resistance. In the past, that was squeezing every last drop out of a player. Now, we can afford to cut our losses.

I don't think anyone would blame him for that. No sense wasting energy on a couple of players that might not have what it takes to improve.

Imagine what Del thinks of that right now. Made an assist in last match and now finds a league 1 newly signed player chosen over him on the bench vs City.

It's a ruthless game. I'd love to see him make it, but time is running out.

I see your point. What I feel is nowadays with every manager thinking they are a football genius and moving good/decent players off just cos they don't meet one of the criteria they have entrenched in their so called philosophy.

For example:

- A player like Vidic wouldn't have played for Pep cos he may be a great tackler but too physical and not natural ball player. Joe Hart was moved on straightaway.

- Fabregas is not good enough to start every match for Conte.

- Now with Koeman, he will move on Del today, then Barkley will be shipped off in the summer too. Why is he not willing to work with Barkley to maybe change his position from no 10 to no 8? Why can't he use Del's flair and crossing abilities to good use? Its not like they are 28/29 pushing 30.

Just feel like its unfair when players in their youth see managers coming and going every other year and every manager forcing those players to adapt to his way or taking the highway. Must be confusing for young players and no wonder some of them don't realise their true potential.

Imagine Zidane playing for Koeman: "Good player but OK he doesn't press so no future".

Penalty shout aside- It has been a brilliant half

Rom and Kevin have been great. (Kev looks a new player these last three games)
Coleman and Holgate should be starting together like they are now
Baines has looked revitalized as of late
Tom Davies is the best at reading passes in the team. Phenomenal prospect we have on our hands
CBs have been good apart from Mori's midfield drive that almost cost us
Robles has been brilliant at reading the game.
Barry looks so much better in a five back system. When we are playing counter attacking football, he works.
Ross has been boss.

A lot of this is down to Koeman's sense of urgency. He wants results now, he wants big improvement now.

That's pretty unusual, I think. Most managers want three seasons, they constantly communicate the journey they are on, and that fans should reserve judgement. Koeman doesn't do that.

I'm enjoying the novelty of that, even if I do feel a little uneasy with it. It feels like big change is coming quickly - for good or ill.
