Today we gained 3 points on city and 2 on United above us.

No matter how unlikely it is to overtake them, we also done it by getting a win most of us didn't think would happen. Some more of them this season and cutting out the crap results and just perhaps there's at least another league place we can move up to.

How about a bit of pride to get back? Ok we aren't winning a cup this year, but ending this season with our heads held high for the fact we have stopped being a crap mid table team and done something. Yes it may not get us champions league football or be glamorous for the record books but least we can have some pride in the team again. See us win some more games than we did for 2 years previously and perhaps, just perhaps, enjoy watching everton again.

Gueye and young Davies would be worthy contributors to any top four team.

Why would they want them with matic and Kante? But anyway your argument was that any of the top 4 don't have as good a group as we not if they'd take individuals. Still don't think we have a better central midfield as Chelsea, Tottenham or Arsenal. Gana was a top signing from Koeman and he's given Davies a chance to prove himself...schneiderlin will replace Barry. Good forward planning.

I am smiling. Can we not also state that we won't play naive teams like City every week and we need to add the right players to make any chance of getting 5th or 4th again?

Tbh, I'm more secure about Everton's standing and status in the game that I need to do cartwheels over defeating City at home. It was a big win, but I've seen many times before. The only thing that makes me smile more this time is the lad Davies making his name.

Agree we need some guile. All of the euphoria will be gone on here if we struggle to break down Palace. We need a playmaker as you have said. I think Koeman is looking for one.
