Ronald Koeman discussion

haha it doesn't really work like that. It was still a win over a 90 game of football in a competitive game.
Did we knock Manchester City out of the cup or did they knock us out of the cup? That's all you need to know, we didn't beat anybody. If you want to pretend that gaining the advantage in a first leg counts as an actual win feel free. Loads might agree with you but its BS as far as I'm concerned. We went out of the cup, we lost.

If you win or draw a game of football you gain either three or one point or knock your opponent out of the cup or earn a reply. We achieved none of these things. I'm afraid it's you talking nonsense mate. Whatever, if you want to pretend that being 2-1 up after a first leg counts as a actual win that's up to you. Most rational people won't agree however. Your obviously entitled to your opinion, I just happen to find it bizarre.

It's a win. They play a 90m game of footy. It has a result at the end. It'll be there in the club history as a win, it will be there in the overall head to head between the clubs as a win. Unfortunately it meant zero in the end but it's a win

The Sunday evening service from the church of Davek has been cancelled. The high priest of the anti Koeman cult has been a bit busy this evening wipping all that egg from his face!Although i see one or two worshipers from that cult have now been reduced to bigging up a meaningless first leg win in the mickey mouse cup against Man City last year.lol

Not to mention Martinez record against City in the league for us. Played 6 lost 6

Let's agree to differ mate, we obviously see things differently and I really don't want to argue with another blue after today's result. Especially over something so petty. ;)

Nobodies bigging it up. Somebody posted that the last boss never beat city. They were corrected.

There's nothing to big up. We got knocked out.

Quote of the year so far this.

Crying.

Right I'm drunk , been out all day enjoying beating a team we should apparently be beating, I've deffo not got used to it though .

I grew up watching Everton as the best team in the country , if not Europe but beating a 'big team' is something I still enjoy , like it or loathe it city are now a big team and we've just schooled them . I loved it when Martinez's Everton did it to Arsenal and today was exactly the same, how does a blue not enjoy that ?

Good lad. I'm glad you're over the moon with things. I'm a little more circumspect. I've seen us go from 5th place and really stepping up against all teams in this league and it looked like we could make a CL spot only to slide down the table. So I'm less prone to being elated over 7th. It's a long way to go. As Chairman Mao said though - the journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step. Maybe, just maybe that first step was made against City today.

You do know that journey from champions league contenders to mid table obscurity all happened under Martinez right? We were a shambles when that man was booted out of Goodison on his ass.Under Koeman we have gone from being a mid table outfit to best of the rest in the league all in the space of a few months.
