Ronald Koeman discussion

A thread about the Belgium manager in world football. Does discussion about Everton under our previous managers really belong in an international football thread in world football? Do we not come to the Everton forum to discuss Everton matters? If I have a sudden urge to discuss the manager of the Belgian national side I'll be disappointed when I get there and the thread is full of Everton stuff.

Pipe down. I was referencing where we were and where we now are. I didn't bring it up, I just wanted to point out that after 37 games last season, the last full time manager had us 13th and 7 months later we're 7th, progression like Everton haven't seen since Moyes first full season.

I'm doing it for your good. The mods aren't tolerating the Martinez debate in threads anymore so be warned.

I get that but it's providing context to the contrast in performance now against last season. Hard to assess progress otherwise.

Well I am sure there have been plenty of posts that have assessed that by now.

In our recent experience, it has been better for the forum mood if Martinez stuff is left in the Martinez thread.

It just leads to rancour and work for us, without actually adding anything to the forum.

Ronald Koeman is a good man. A solid manager and a great sportsman. I'm very happy to have him at Everton and believe we are well on our way to getting in amongst the top 6. It's a work in progress but we'll get there under him.

Now, that's out the way...

Yeah, I wonder why that is? I wonder what could be causing any such debates to descend in pettiness and any hope of a quality discussion to go straight out of the window? Its such a mystery.

Not quite Dave. We are not tolerating numerous threads being derailed by folk. Some obviously looking for a bite from you, and others. So thank you for your redirection prompts to posters.
I understand what some are saying about the Martinez as Belgian manager not being appropriate for all Martinez related debate, but it's far better off in that than in this Everton forum.

Dave this has to stop, it's a fair referencing point, how can we know where we're going if we don't know where we are coming from? I simply stated that from 13th to 7th is impressive by Koeman, especially considering the strengthening that the current top 6 have done on and off the pitch compared to us in the past 30 months. If you don't like it, ignore it.

A simple search of key words 'ginger bollocks' in the @Fat Stan Martinez thread will prove what a humongous hypocrite you're being.

If I mention Martinez when not using it as a comparison, then fair enough, but this was not, it was a solid and fair reflection on Koeman's progress with our club.
