Ronald Koeman discussion

Like I said, "Who knows?"

Just feel we are moving the right direction atm, whilst a few others are not.
We are. Keep your feet on the ground though because I can almost guarantee another downturn for a good few matches. This time next season we'll have an indication how he's working out.

"Dip" "streaky" - same difference. Fall asleep for 10/12 matches in the PL and you can forget a CL challenge.

People keep mentioning this long winless "streak" in every season as if it is sommat we just have to put up with.

Bugger that.

As you say Dave, a team with our aspirations and ambition cannot afford that luxury going forward.

Otherwise we stay in the ha'penny place.

But I don't think it is necessatpriky in his DNA.

The tide has well and truly turned now, both Manc clubs are coming into range and the RS will probably be joining them.

A splendid run from here on in will land us in the top six and that fourth spot could well be up for grabs in the final month of the campaign.

And I for one doi not expect a repeat of a long winless streaks next season ;)

Ha ha ha. We win and you think of me.

Where am I? Still here mate, still looking at a manager who has us in 7th place.

The recent run is encouraging, but my point about Koeman has always been that he's a streaky manager. Good first 5 games this season followed by 3 wins in 17 games. Now we have an upturn, but there will be another downturn.

It's the nature of the beast.

Open your eyes. 22 games won 10 with 36 points. You can complain to the FA and said to them the first 5 games does not count.

Firmly planted in my thermal socks and slippers mate.

Them lot get beat by the bottom side (this morning), us looking ok, home made lasagne in the oven.

A good day. ;)

It is his first season mate.

We've been absolutely terrible for two seasons previously, let's give him a chance.

I wasn't a huge fan of Koeman a couple of months ago, but he has shown he can adapt and we're seeing results from this.
Who's not giving him a chance? He's not for me so far regardless of the recent results. I'd never cast a manager aside and not give them a chance to get it right though.

He's a strange man. Very cold and not Everton at all, IMO. Still, this time next season for me in terms of acceptance or complete rejection.

He's showing a bit more in the role, but I sometimes wonder if he's got the guile needed to break these stubborn teams down. Crucial thing was we made the chance and took it. Good win and keeps the momentum

Koeman definitely has him working harder, and he could have had himself a few goals today. Hopefully he will continue to improve. Excellent man management.

Why can he not be judged on his first season?

All you ever bang on about is Martinez's first season.

What please me most today was just how comfortable everybody looked on the ball .
The little balls around the corner instead of panicking, constant inter passing looking for a gap or weakness
I think it all stems from Ross being on his hand and having his head up the whole match
Really good to see. We looked and played like a superior team and Palace just didn't know what to do

Nothing is written in stone. It's football so anything can happen. Overwhelming odds though are for us to remain 7th. IMO that's where we'll end up.

Acceptable as a first season final pkace, not for next season.
