Ronald Koeman discussion

I can appreciate that viewpoint, and I don't think he immediately bought into Everton, constantly referring to us in third person etc. I do think his impartiality is kind of what we needed though. We needed someone who could come in and change things up a bit. Change is as good as the rest.
In some respects, as I've said earlier in the season, the constant deference to our past can be unhelpful. What Koeman did was come in and assess the club and players and bring an element of reality about where we were. It was needed in my opinion, possibly with more tact though. That said, he seems to be warming to us.

Imagine being a football fan and being bitter when your team win. Atrocious behaviour that. Get in the bin the lot of yer, meantime we'll be enjoying ourselves but not getting carried away with the upturn in results or the breakthrough of the teenagers from the academy or youth teams or the new signings or the fact we're moving in on 6th and 5th placed teams or the fact ATM we're miles better than last season or the season before and not whining because we're not competing with teams that have outspent us by 100's of millions over the last 10 years, just enjoying it that's all.

Well no Dave, we're three points better off and have closed the gap to some of those above us, just like we did last week and after the Southampton game.......
The seasons over in reality mate. Ok, we somehow manage to get 6th (not on IMO, like). So what?

We need to get ourselves sorted out for next season and a CL place challenge AND/OR a cup win.

Fair enough mate.

I do think next season will be the season we properly judge him on.

It isn't his team, and he clearly has strong feelings of the players he wants in his squad.

7th (if we end up there) will represent an improvement, and a respectable finish to a first season.

Let's remember that the amazing Klopp :)oops:) finished 8th last season.
I agree 100% mate. You say that and it's ok, I say it and it's like I've insulted everyone's ma's!!!!

I don't believe we will at all but what if.

In 7 days we gave closed 5 points on kopites. Before kick off we have closed 5 on United. Before kick off we have closed at least 6 on city pending their game also.

What if the team has now clicked, and over the weekend we have chances to close even more? Hell beat United and kopite somehow and there's another 3 closed.

This isn't a getting carried away question, I don't expect us to overtake them and I expect us to lose a few before the end. But what if city don't get it together, or the kopites do fall from grace whilst we are winning? Potentially 2 places up for grabs there then alone.
