Ronald Koeman discussion

You see Kith, one of the reasons I stuck by Bobby until the bitter end (well, the Arsenal
home game if truth be told ) was that I loved his boundless optimism and positivity.

Football to me is all about escapism.

All through my life I have never encountered a circumstance so grim, most notably the death of my parents, that was not alleviated by imagining I was scoring the winning goal for EFC in the European Cup Final.

And whilst I understand some fellows might find Ronald's lowering of expectations wrapped up as a new "honesty" to their liking, I for one do not expect, nor want, to hear my manager lament the lack of fitness in his team on the cusp of a new season.

Apart from owt else it is giving the opposition a boost.

Keep that knowledge to yourself, Ronald.

We don't need to hear it IMO.

All's you are doing is arming the opposition and de-motivating your own fans :(

At least this fan at any rate :(
Some great points raised there. Let's just wait and see.
If Bobby could manage it would have nice to have that positivity. Maybe Ronald needs to have his recruits and players in place and playing well to bring out some joy in him? We'll see.

Is he not?

So 38,000 of us should just turn up tomorrow content in the knowledge that the team is "only 70% fit" but hey, what the heck?

Enthusiasm and optimism are for every other bugger supporting every other team, but not for Evertonians.

Making the paying customers feel "enthusiastic" about the new season is not part of a new manager's remit

Its not like we are Hull !!! If you aren't enthusiastic about today...that's on you. Let's actually kick a ball before we start sniveling.
I hope we'll find the 70 % fit comment was a soundbite..... Our existing squad is better than last year / the manager is better and who knows what happens in the next 3 weeks. I'm already more hopeful than I was at any time after the LC semi last year.
Today is the first of many up and down days on the path of restoring this great club. I think we are in a better place on / off the field than we have been for a while. COYB

As far as the fans go, R K needs to remember just one thing: he'll never have the 100% support of all of us. That would mean quite a few admitting they'd been wrong on the internet. Never going to happen.

I'd much rather have a manager who told it as it is. When Koeman gives praise you know it's earned. For me his words carry more weight,as when he recently gently praised Holgate you know the lad must be very promising. I stopped listening to our previous manager halfway through our first season even though he was at that point doing well ,because he effectively said nothing of any great import. Always felt Martinez was trying to sell me a set of "phenomenal " brushes l didn't actually need, and his words ,for me ,carried no weight.

Good points

Stopped listening to Moyes as he was depressing
Martinez was just the total opposite and then that started to annoy me as we have just been embarrassed and he still smiles

I was just concerned that he might already feel let down by the board but we are crap at transfers and Koeman must be tearing his hair out.

Players are only 70% fit; we would like three or four more new players in the squad; Stekelenberg, Williams and Gueye replacing Howard, Stones and the injured Besic.
Guaranteed we'll beat Spurs today!
Koeman you Blues.

The Circle of BAWK.

We love Moyes for his honesty.

We hate Moyes for his honesty.

We Love Martinez for his positivity.

We hate Martinez for his positivity.

We love Koeman for his honesty?

What's next????
We didn't hate Moyes for his honesty. We hated him for talking us down.
