Ronald Koeman discussion

On a decent run at the moment.
Unlike our run at the start of the season, we are looking good value for our results.

He's starting to mold the team and chase out the dead wood.

I was very sceptical at first with the way he is openly telling players they were not part of his plans (gives them nothing to play for), but he is setting a bar here. Don't come here and expect to settle for anything less than success.

Still a long, long way to go, but the signs so far are good despite the pre-christmas wobble.

Next couple of transfer windows are key for shipping out the dead wood, bringing in a few names to improve the 1st team and the continuation of bringing home grown players into the snr squad! :)

Time for ambition is now. Absolutely no reason why we couldn't achieve 5th place this season. Few important games against the top 6 to come. 5 points of 6th.

One or two additions this window and we could give it a real go. Koeman's tactics seem to have clicked. He knows what he wants. The players know what he wants. And those who don't are being replaced by those who will.

That's Everton. Great job from RonK & Rhino making it happen.

But he doesn't play the kids laaaar...

I don't think Koeman comes across as cold at all. The man is one of the best footballers of all time and I think he just has a very high level of expectation/professionalism.

I was far from convinced with him before he joined and my posts here would be proof of that, but he's shown what he's all about and has us winning games as well as showing the importance of being ruthless when it comes to being successful.

Would our previous managers have dropped Jags like Ronald has? Not a chance.

If we manage to break into the top 6 this season, it would be an incredible achievement given how competitive the league is this season (the most competitive it's ever been by far).

Is right mate.

I'm starting to believe that a new golden generation of Everton players is about to announce themselves.....Kendall would be pleased.

Over to you Ronald sir, don't mess it up.
I saw that as well. They even mentioned it in passing towards the end of the match when we were deep in the Palace area. Barkley, Davies, Holgate, Lookman and Lukaku all up there. Could be something..

We need another keeper.....I would go after Hennessey or Pickford then find a top CB, AM and LB...

Oh and David Unworth should be promoted to the 1st team in the summer ....our new Harvey!

Ha ha ha. We win and you think of me.

Where am I? Still here mate, still looking at a manager who has us in 7th place.

The recent run is encouraging, but my point about Koeman has always been that he's a streaky manager. Good first 5 games this season followed by 3 wins in 17 games. Now we have an upturn, but there will be another downturn.

It's the nature of the beast.

You still havent responded to me proving this 'inconsistent, streaky' manager talk wrong.
He finished on 63 and 60 points with Saints. An average of 61.5
He is on course to finish on 61 points this season.

How on earth is that streaky and inconsistent?

I dare you to answer as you seemingly fail to do so when proven wrong.

We cant win a trophy, but if we can put a run together then European football is well within reach. The teams above have to play each other as we have to play all of the above teams so there is plenty more twists and turns left yet. If we can add one or two more additions before the end of the month then why cant we make a fist of it.
Really we are marking time until next season starts. Yes, it's important to bed in players and get a method of playing together, but the interest in finishing 6th or 7th or 8th is pretty moot.
