Ronald Koeman discussion

Nah, a bit far fetched. Their squad strength will tell toward the end if the season.

This season is over without the cup involvement. I'd rather we lost against both City and Palace and beat Leicester, tbh.
So then Dave you would have been thrilled as a Wigan fan -
Really we are marking time until next season starts. Yes, it's important to bed in players and get a method of playing together, but the interest in finishing 6th or 7th or 8th is pretty moot.
Davd were 5 points behind United with a team 3rd in the form table certainly not impossible to catch them, would a top 6 finish convince you of progress from the shambles we were 8 months ago.

We should be able to assemble a squad that can cope with both. With the amount of promising youngsters we have here or currently out on loan in the championship too, its a good chance to get them game time.
It's planning for two games in one week mate and the travelling. It is a bugger to deal with.

Speaking of Everton and koeman,i actually predicted 61 points, that was before the man city game,if we can win games we are suppose to win etc,we could get a tiny touch more for me

Disagree. We need to get as high up the table as possible, in both positions and points. Finishing with 60+ points and beginning to gel as a team will provide self-confidence and hopefully attract transfer targets that believe we can add another 10 points next season and challenge for the CL spots.

Getting nowhere near the top 6 and ending with ~50 points is hugely different.
Yes, I stated earlier it's important to use as a dry run for next season. But who really cares if the season has ended competitively? It's a valid point because you know what this team has been like in the past: when there's something at stake they bottle it; when the pressure is off they can pick up wins. 'Twas ever this with this lot. So although we can bed in players to a method that Koeman wants, the real test is in COMPETITIVE games, not these "dead rubber" matches.

Yeah, and if they keep this up it'll be a good dry run for next season. But that's all it is: a dry run. Everton finish 7th or a place above or below it - so what? It's meaningless.

...come on Dave, just admit that you're feeling good tonight. I'm sitting here with an Aussie Whites listening to Carole King singing the Tapestry album. It's a good day, Matey, force a little smile.

Top 7 would be progress and adequate never mind 6th, I've already stated that. But it means nothing. And if we get 7th next season when a CL or top 5'pkace is a must then he's not performing.

You're making my point for me mate. Those totals will get you nothing but a pat in the head as a best of the rest team, not a CL spot team. The nightmare sequence S'ton had before last Christmas was their downfall. He's a manager who can't avoid a snakes and ladders effect to his season.

How on earth am I making your point for you?

Your making a fool out of yourself here. He has proven through his results that he is consistent at achieving a similar points total in each of his seasons managing in this league.

In his first season his team didnt move out of positions 5th to 7th (three places) for the final 23 games. The way you portray him would surely see a dip in position followed by a large movement up front in his 'up turn?' streak?

In his second season his team didnt move out of positions 6th to 8th (three places again) for the final 15 games. Again, consistent in my eyes.

I think what your trying to say is that he, like any manager, is susceptible to the odd run of poor form where his team dont get results. Its hardly a crime. Every manager does it. What Ronald seems to do, as the evidence suggests, is be able to stop the rot and bounce back.

The matter of fact is that he has proven he is very capable of getting top end finishes; much more than his predecessor and it is this which is giving Evertonians most satisfaction. They know were in safe hands in terms of the PL and Koeman is someone who is capable of putting a team out which will be hard to beat, will finish top end of the league and is a proven platform to kick on.

Pride comes before a fall fella.
