I remember being in Barcelona 2 nights before the Villareal game. Walking along Las Ramblas and we could hear Evertonians singing in bars coming from 3 different directions. If we were actually playing Barca the place would be crazy!

Lad, you're tripping yourself up so much that I'm worried about the long term effect on your nose as you come crashing to the floor !

Anyway, we don't have a game for over a week, so I'll love you and leave you for a bit and resume this after the Stoke game.

Win, lose or draw that game, I think we're making progress under Koeman. I'd like it to be faster, and I'm aware that we're on a good run at the moment, which will doubtless come to and end sooner or later, at which point doubtless those who judge managers purely on their last three or four results will have a good fume and an angry wank ( and why not ! )

I forget what my point was, but you'll notice I've replied to your post my moving my reply to the Koeman thread in an attempt to stay on-topic and not incur the wrath of @roydo and @AndyC !

You insinuated that you would rather be in the cup and have 'something to look forward to'.

Losing two semi finals (surely the yardstick as that was our most recent best cup run?) isnt anything great. Its meaningless.

Moshiri's stated in his interview with Jim White that the aim this season was to get back into Europe, so the senior people who matter at the club, want us to be in the Europa League next season and clearly don't see it as detracting from the PL campaign.

“I think we shouldn’t forget, last year we were on a terrible run. The club is going the right way. At the beginning of the season our plan was to get in Europe. I think we’re on target”

But 6th or indeed 7th can get you into Europe (EL). But the post I replied to was saying the benchmark next season is CL or 5th, otherwise its failure.
