Ronald Koeman discussion

Who says it's a must (apart from you, of course), is this the performance target the board have set him for next year?

I want to see Everton improve. if we finish 7th or 8th this year, that's improvement on last year. If we then went on to finish 6th next year - that's improvement again. I'd like us to get as high as possible, as quickly as possible, of course, but as long as we're improving, and not going backwards, I'm on board.
If we get about what we have now next season that's treading water. We didn't accept it from Moyes when he was nailing that average for a few years on a lot less cash than this feller is spending, so why should he get a free pass?

I agree David, we should improve every season, so if we get 7th this season, 6th must be the min next season and so on.

Fair play to Koeman, have been critical of him, but the one thing he has done all season, is change things. Changes of formation, changes of personnel. Not just blind optimism that doing the exact same thing that had been a fiasco the week before would eventually come good.

Seems to have found a formation and an energy to the team that works.

Earned a round of golf.

But Moyes got 12 years didn't he mate? He got a free pass for 6/7 years. It was only towards the end people got frustrated with him and a lot of this was down to his attitude.

Koeman has had more money, so expecting him to get 6 years is unrealistic as well. But he deserves an opportunity to acquire his team before he's judged doesn't he?

It's because you made a fool of yourself with him and you're doing it again with Koeman. You haven't even got the bottle to say where Koeman should have us after 7 months in the job.
You're not paying attention. He should have us here, minimum. He has us here. NEXT SEASON that will not be the minimum. Can't say it any plainer than that, tbh.

I don't see moving up the league as treading water. As I said, 7th/8th this year then 6th next year is improvement.

If we managed to catch up and get 6th this year, then yeah, I'd be looking at CL / 5th next season as being improvement.

That said I'm keen to move forwards as quickly as you are, but if Koeman improves our league position in his first 2 seasons, I'd find it difficult to say he's not performed.

8 points off 4th, bang in form, season over MY ARSE.
the seasons never over for me,till the final whistle on the final day, never like it when people say the seasons over, even worst when some said it with 19 games to go lol, dont care if it meant we would not get in europa league etc,i dont want to watch us not caring if we lost just because some say the season over,i want to win every game no matter if we were stuck in 11th etc,and wouldnt move up or down if that was the final day
