Our spending was financed by the Stones sale and TV revenue. Liverpool have outspent us for years as Deco pointed out.

Everyone knows they've outspent us for years but you and Davek expect us to beat them because we spent a bit more one season? which was only due to a sale the year before.

That's the last 5 seasons in a different financial climate to this one we are in I think. 20-30m pound players are what we need to improve our side and show our intent to players we want and to the rest of the league imo. If we could get some of them cheaper then by all means but we need to buy from a different shelf than we have done previously.

You knew the gist I was getting at though just Deco put it in a more coherent way.

Let's see if we finish above Liverpool next season like you seem to think we should because we're this huge spending club all of a sudden.

Look at there first team and how its been put together, We don't need to be lashing 30m+ on players to push on

So you don't think wages are the key part of "spend"?

In terms of playing staff, they have outspent us this season in the tens of millions. So yes, he's entirely correct in saying that we haven't yet outspent them. And no, you "debunked" nothing lol.

Not on every single player but now we have a bit of financial muscle maybe we have access to another tier of player so a few big fees may need paying to show players we are serious. Spurs are the exception rather than the rule in the top 6, wonderful though it would be to emulate or surpass them.

We have outspent them, End of, If you can't get your head around that then that's your problem
