Southampton with the country's best youth system didn't have decent youth players when Koeman was there...strange that isn't it....then when we played them this year one of those he ignored at Southampton was MOTM against us....and he said he didn't know the lad's name.

Oh dear.

That was December 3rd. That's seven and a bit weeks I believe.

Davies came in at the right time. Could he have come in earlier? Probably, but we'd have been relying on an 18 year old to turn around our form.

He came in at a good time as we'd shown a decent bit of form vs Arsenal and in the first half of the derby. He was phased in and made the most of his chance.

Holgate has been a permanent member of the squad this season.

He has either been in the 18 or the starting Xi for every single game. Calvert-Lewin, prior to his injury, played against Arsenal, Liverpool, Hull and S'ton. Lookman has played in both games he's been available for.

If they're good enough. They play.

The first half of the season was Koeman getting to know the senior squad. The ones who have been deemed not good enough are getting shipped out.

No. I'll continue to bring it to the attention of the mods because the bitterness from a few desperate people shouldn't hijack every thread on here....they belong in that Martinez thread where the toxicity can be safely dealt with by me.

They had one 'new' youth player in their side today and that was purely because VVD got injured half-way through the second-half.

He said he didn't know him when at S'ton. He saw him play a few times but was never impressed. Sims had 60 good minutes against us but is yet to do anything of note.

How's he done since that game Dave?

How many others have stepped up from there academy this year, I assume many given your assertion that it was Koeman holding them back rather than them not being good enough?

refresh my memory again how there youth players performed at goodison?
 

I like how Koeman slings an extra centre back on when we're trying to protect a lead, even if we've got three on the pitch already.
