Ok mate. No spin. We're 7th in a 6 horse race. How d'you like them apples?
There are definitely 20 teams in the race David....

Whether some are being lapped already or not is a different matter. But it's definitely 20. Two zero.

Sound

How's he done since that game Dave?

How many others have stepped up from there academy this year, I assume many given your assertion that it was Koeman holding them back rather than them not being good enough?

refresh my memory again how there youth players performed at goodison?
Koeman said when he was there that none of their academy were ready. A numb nuts assessment immediately proven wrong when his successor went in there.

Since he left, Sims, McQueen and Olomola have all gained a first team footing.

Here's a good article on what Puel was asked to do to unravel the harm done to the Southampton youth policy when he was there. http://www.fourfourtwo.com/sg/news/puel-i-replaced-koeman-give-southampton-youngsters-a-chance

It's not even up as serious debate that Koeman tried to have their home grown system placed in mothballs when he was there because he wanted to spend cash. Only now are they recovering from his purblind attitude.

It's 5 months into Koeman's first season and we're comfortably 7th, and closing in on the top 6 every week.

Any higher would be very impressive considering the teams above us. We could still very well finish in the top 6 this season. We're also playing some brilliant football as well as keeping clean sheets.

What's not to be happy about? We'll hopefully continue to spend each window, with an improvement each season from here.

Got to agree that the squad needs/needed an overhaul. Hence why cleverly has been loaned out to a lower premier league club, Kone is nowhere to be seen, McGeady has dropped a division and Niasse is wasting someone else's bench space now. On top of that you've got del on his way out.

2 of those were regulars last season with the others all being used from the bench a fair amount. That's a large chunk of a match day squad that needs replacing

That was December 3rd. That's seven and a bit weeks I believe.

Davies came in at the right time. Could he have come in earlier? Probably, but we'd have been relying on an 18 year old to turn around our form.

He came in at a good time as we'd shown a decent bit of form vs Arsenal and in the first half of the derby. He was phased in and made the most of his chance.

Holgate has been a permanent member of the squad this season.

He has either been in the 18 or the starting Xi for every single game. Calvert-Lewin, prior to his injury, played against Arsenal, Liverpool, Hull and S'ton. Lookman has played in both games he's been available for.

If they're good enough. They play.

The first half of the season was Koeman getting to know the senior squad. The ones who have been deemed not good enough are getting shipped out.
So why didn't Martinez try our crop of super youngsters in the derby 3 days before an Fa cup semi final Dave. I agree with some of the you've posted in the past. But it increasingly seems to me that you are more obsessed with berating Koeman than looking at our recent performances you got to admit have improved enormously.

And look as us now that we've binned off the absolute shitters and replaced them with lads that look like they want to be here. Everyone's feeling good about life.

At the end of the day lads is anyone arsed about what Koeman did with some crap youngsters destined for Port Vale and Doncaster when he was at Southampton? When we've got Davies, Holgate and Lookman in our team now taking the piss out of the Premier League? Nah ok then lads, neither do I.

'TON 'TON 'TONNNNNNNN

Pretty much ;)

Dave why are we bothered about what the Everton Manager did at Southampton, likewise did we hammer Martinez when he finished 5th but took Wigan down. What matters is now and what we do and clearly we're making progress, even you must see this?

Who cares what Koeman did at Southampton? He's doing a brilliant job with our youth here.

This agenda is unbelievable lol
