...I look forward to that happy event.

It's an enormous total and if we achieve it again the odds are it will be enough next time around.

With the right players purchased this window, we could even make a push for the top 4, this season.

Maneless Liverpool are struggling, we simply need to overcome 6 points, then utterly dick them at Anfield and end their season.

Merely stating the future is unwritten and writing off the man before he has his feet under the table is poor .

Lack of 'big signings' ultimately made us fall at the last hurdle. I hate always using Spurs as a comparison for everything, but that's why they probably won't win anything substantial unless they go out and buy a few world class players to add to what they have. Same reason Liverpool won't win the league. United, City Chelsea are way ahead in pulling power.

I think we'll join the party next season and it will be a competitive top 7. Smart recruitment and effective management can get us there. Increased expenditure in players and wages are required if we want to firstly remain competitive and secondly start winning silverware.
Possibly. But then there is the complication of the stadium...and you know if that happens we wont be fighting on two fronts finance wise.

Have you been on the ale?

We have 36 points. We'd need MINIMUM 70 points to make a fist of it. 34 points from 48 available.

This is ludicrous talk. We've actually won only 5 of the last 17 games or something daft like that, so that trend would have to be exploded beyond belief in the remaining 16 games.

4 wins out of 5 David.

Its all about momentum.

As I say, if we can get the right players in, we can easily chip away those 6 points, then the match at Anfield becomes a CL play off.

Well realistically the gap between 7th and 8th is going to be quite bigger than what it has been over previous seasons, which means 70 points for top four is being very optimistic. But let's assume that 70 is reasonable. 34 points out of 48 means winning approximately 11 of our last 16 games. That will be very difficult, but there aren't many games we should be losing.

I agree with the first part, but how so with the second?

I'd have thought the maths suggest that for our purposes we'd need those from 8th down to be picking up a lot of points off those above us...just to bring them back to us.

Koeman accumulated 35 points from game week 23 and onwards last season. With Southampton. Absolutely doable.
