Ronald Koeman discussion

I'm not sure of the reality of the % being bandied about. IMO it was more the gulf in class that showed in the second half.

We dont require more fitness so much as we do require new faces, that's for sure.
I agree mate about new faces I'm sure moshiri had a good look yesterday at the match but we're finally going in the right direction it looks like

Perfect manager for us, just hope the board back him to the hilt as he'll get us top 6 with the money spent. Still think we need 4-5 signings in rather than the 2-3 mentioned by RK.

I think we will end up with another 4-5 as well. I think he's hoping to get 2-3 confirmed this week and then we will get a couple late in the window.

Spot on though about backing him as much as possible, I think he could do massive things with us given the money to spend.

Unti he came on? He came on early second half.

They put a poor first half behind and showed the gap between us and them. End of story.
I thought he'd come on around the hour mark?

Anyway, until his arrival they'd created nothing, including the second half to that point.

The 'gap' was largely fitness towards the end, and the lack of a focal point up top. They're a good side but we outplayed them for more than half the game Dave - end of story ;)

Two entirely different halves. Where were they first half? And don't forget, we were without our main striker throughout the game. Their main striker was a baggush height all match. Their star midfielder the same.

I wouldn't say there was a gulf in class, meself. That's the third time on the bounce they've only got a draw out of us. They're a match, but there's no great chasm in class in their favour imo.

Personally think we'll get 3 but I would be made up with 4. If push came to shove I would sacrifice bringing in a back up striker as I think alongside Bolasie we need a top class GK, first choice CB and a top quality CM to partner Gueye coming in.

I reckon we will get a GK, Bolasie, CB plus another striker and centre mid plus if anyone top drawer ( like a Mata) suddenly becomes available we will be in there like a shot

I think he'll go with what we have in centre midfield sadly. Only reason why I think we could survive without a back up striker is that Mirallas and Deulofeu for me could play up top if needed. We won't be playing many teams as strong as Spurs and once the fitness levels are up I think both could do a job in Rom's absence over the 90 minutes.

I'm shocked we never went in for Negredo tbh, would have been an ace back up option.

That team played with a lot of quality on the ball; off the ball they failed to work hard. That's just about the bottom line on them.

Bottom line: I hope Koeman is a half way house between Moyes' discipline and hard running and Roberto's insistence that we build from the back and attempt to construct moves.

I don't want anything from that man associated with this football club, an absolute black mark on our history. He can take his failed approach to the national team of belgium.

Ron will do it his way and it'll produce results
