Ronald Koeman discussion

I thought he'd come on around the hour mark?

Anyway, until his arrival they'd created nothing, including the second half to that point.

The 'gap' was largely fitness towards the end, and the lack of a focal point up top. They're a good side but we outplayed them for more than half the game Dave - end of story ;)

I expect we'll see what constitutes the gap after we play West Brom. Koeman says 100% fitness in two weeks, so probably that means 85% for the West Brom match.

...and we'd be expected to beat West Brom so....

Two entirely different halves. Where were they first half? And don't forget, we were without our main striker throughout the game. Their main striker was a baggush height all match. Their star midfielder the same.

I wouldn't say there was a gulf in class, meself. That's the third time on the bounce they've only got a draw out of us. They're a match, but there's no great chasm in class in their favour imo.

TBF: new manager, opening day of the season in front of a full house - I'd expect a good opening statement from us.

As Shearer pointed out last night, Potchetino didn't take long early second half to figure out a solution to the problem we set by committing more numbers to attack.

And we had nothing on the bench cos Martinez gave Kone a 3 year contract.

If 70% of Everton is good enough the get a draw against Spurs then 85% should be enough to beat WBA. Koeman's Theory of Increasing Returns.

I don't want anything from that man associated with this football club, an absolute black mark on our history. He can take his failed approach to the national team of belgium.

Ron will do it his way and it'll produce results
Ha Ha Ha.

Let's put it this way, if Koeman serves up a similar debut season to RMs we'll all be delighted.

Hopefully Williams and lukaku back and another 3 players in by west brom will strengthen us even more mate Did shearer say anything good about us ?

Still clinging to that dave, it's on honour list with moyes CL qualification.

Ron will have this team fighting with pride for the blue shirt, organised and powefully ruthless....something that's been well and truly absent for 2 years. And that horror show that we were unfortunately witness to will be left for stories we tell our grandkids

To have the team playing at 100% fitness and 100% of their capability is already an improvement. Results will come naturally and nothing to worry about. Sick and tired of playing at 70% for the past 3 season and it's certainly refreshing to look forward and witness what we can do at 100%

The bench started the game because of injury to Lukaku....you remember Lukaku dont you? The player that Martinez bought for £27M and who'll leave for almost £60M two seasons later.

aye, that's the thing: most of us (me included) wanted Moyes and Martinez out, yet under an apparently rich & ambitious new owner and a sought-after Big Name Manager most aren't even expecting us to match what the previous two managers did, at least not in their first full season. Anywhere between 8th-12th seems to be the average prediction.

Deffo a strange one. Saying that, Leicester winning the title has skewed all previous logic on its head.

Is that fella he fluked when he rang Chelsea up for Damba Ba?

Anyway, we all saw Lukakus thought on Martinez.

"Is this a piss take", no Rom, thats the sound of defeat.
